You know...I generally expect more than that from the crowd that usually comes here but these days I have noticed a tendency in the pro-war camp to just make fun of and accuse people without any qualification whatsoever. The atmosphere created by this attitude is quite poisonous and serves only to further polarize our society.
I'm not even sure what point you are making here besides:
"Nayah, nyah we bombed those people for nothing and I feel really good about it no matter how much damage it will ultimately cause because I am so totally caught up in subjugating a foreign people that I can't be bothered to consider the facts or consequences."

True, after seeing videos of anti-war protests in the US, they do seem like a big bunch of dopes.
It's too bad that such an obvious position has to be defended by such crackpots.

Oh yeah. Hilarius!
Very funny to see people standing up for their principals; risking fines and jail time for their principals, risking severe injury from rubber bullets and dowels for their principals.
Yessiree, it's a laff a minute.

I think you'll be "laughing uproariously" out the other side of your face if the Republicans and the Religious Right achieve everything on their agenda! Or even if they don't, since this stupid war may very well lead to World War III. |

Gee, suddenly I feel really bad that we deposed a guy who has slaughtered anywhere up to a million people over the last couple decades. After all, it's certain to lead to the Gestapo putting a gun in my ear and making me go to church. |

"We" deposed? Glad you were there.
However, any good things that come out of this are fine, but that doesn't change the fact that 'W' is a war criminal and we need to work to depose him.

If that is the only plus about they war, then good, what may happen next? Walt is right, the reason I oppose this war is because it could be the forst domino in a collapse of others. Syria seems to be next, all of a sudden they have WMD, when are Rumsfeld and co. gunna stop. Iran, Sth Korea, where else??? Are we going to Christianise and Westernise the world. Are we going to lose our civil rights to the Right Wingers in Washington?
Sorry about the bad spelling, in a rush....seeya |

You know, I really don't want to see the Right get too powerful in this country, but the Left keep saying stupid shit like "Bush is a war criminal!" and then wonders why it's getting beat on. |

I don't go in much for partisan retoric. Most of it, including my little bit, is just wind, from both sides. I'd rather see the facts, past and present. The facts say that Bush is unfit to govern and his placement in office was an act of subverting states rights -- in short, treachery by the Supreme Court.
As for the war; what was the hurry? Saddam, evil bastard that he was (is?), was not and never has been a threat to the USA. And, by the way, had nothing to do with 9/11. I think that this whole thing could have been settled by the UN backed by the military threat of a genuine coalition of nations. What was the big, fucking yank that we had to invade right now!? What with that, Gitmo and the Patriot Act, Bush and his cronies have proven themselves to be only a little better the man they've ousted in Iraq.
Ok, Iraq is reduced to a shambles and nicely seasoned with depleted uranium. Now what?

Partisan? Clinton was a criminal as well. The sanctions against Iraq were criminal, the bombing of the Sudan and Afghanistan were criminal, the bombing of Yugoslavia was criminal. Nothing partisan about it, they're all criminals. |
