Well, it'd have to be as a tourist destination because as a prison, it's been closed for 20-30 years now.

But I think it is a fear. People might recognize a slight attraction to the same sex and have a fear that they are homosexual. ...I'm not afraid, but I think some people are worried about admitting what they think for fear others will accuse them. Therefore it is a phobia.

I don't understand how disgust became fear in your mind. Sounds a little self serving. I am disgusted by suhi but I can assure you that I am fearless when cornered by a California roll.

But the point is that a phobia is an unreasoning fear...that is a form of mental illness. To go around accusing people of being mentally ill (he's homophobic, she's biphobic) without any medical verification is simply rude. It is absolutely the same as saying she's a bull dike or he's a vile sodomite. Slurs also implying a mental illness.

Hum, that made me think. Although the past few movies I've seen were in the afternoon[cheaper price]I haven't seen that problem myself, I've heard that people do bring young kids to shows.(how rude)
Maybe that's one reason, subconsciously, I've stopped going to movies. The fear of having that problem. LOL, and I always thought it's 'cause movies are not made well now days. Maybe recent movies are not as bad as I think.

Hum! Guess it just did. I don't like suhi either and the fear of eating raw fish with all those germs crawling around on it is disgusting to me.

There, there don't be afraid. The germs aren't nearly so bad as the parasitic flat worms. Ya can't go out for Japanese after taking Marine Biology 101

-------

Now there was this strange police case that I believe (but don't quote me on this part) happened around San Francisco just before the turn of last the century.
A Doctor was engaged to a beautiful young woman of some social standing for about a year. She turned up strangled one day and the Doctor was arrested on suspicion of murder. He was acquitted for lack of evidence, the glove didn't fit or some such thing, and moved to a neighboring town. There he started a successful business (which is why I tend to think that it was around here) Shortly thereafter the fiancée's corpse went missing.
It was found twenty-three years later when municipal workers had to enter the good Doctor's home (after an earthquake I think) She was there on her side of the bed in a negligée. As the years had gone by bits and pieces of her had...er, uhm… deteriorated (as happens with some wives) and as these parts…went…the Doctor replaced them with new bits made of wax (They had photos of the young lady in the article…don't ask).
So here was a relationship of two consenting adults. Well, she was consenting while she was alive and if "silence is consent" did not have a post mortem change of heart. Unlike so many couples I know who are "alive" they remained completely faithful to each other (he never strangled or slept with anyone else) over an extremely long-term relationship. They only separated when he was locked in an asylum for the criminally insane. Before that they had had sex several times a day, every day for twenty-three years (She reminded him of his mummy).

Okey-dokey, now a show of hands. Who, like me, finds this to be absolutely disgusting and wish I had never mentioned it?
Are we all necro-phobics? Are we afraid that we might actually want to have sex with a cadaver if we were around a person like the Doctor? (You might deny it, but some where in the back of your mind…) Are we too fond of placing people into arbitrary categories like living and dead? Did society lock the Doctor up because of narrow-minded bigotry? Who did he hurt anyway?
To what degree can one deviate from social norms before one is considered a deviant?

How long can you resist telling the "iffy" joke that just popped into your head?

They tried to lock me up but now everyone is doing what I did. Norms change, well that is social norms. Not this Norm, me.

Huh?
What joke?
Nothing popped into my head, am I not normal? (and if Kil is reading this, shut up)

EVERYONE??? Everyone is doing what you are (gulp)? Care to be a little less inclusive?

Back in Ireland we say that if two people tell you you're sick--lie down. Meself, I think you should be locked up and restrained for being Martinialy-phobic.

So are you saying that you are casting your vote for "anything goes" what the heck, whose to say what normal really is? Things like NAMBLA and necrophilism may one day soon be normal?

Are there no degrees of separation?

Social norms do change over time, but certain things are destined to never be accepted. Necrophilia certainly qualifies for this and so does coprophagy (an affliction for turds). Speaking of which, if you ever want to see the most disgusting film ever made, try to find "Salo: the last 120 days of Sodom". It's italian, is about all sorts of sexually deviant behaviour (not a porn flick), and you will not eat chocolate pudding for a long time afterwards. Can't remember the name of the director, by he was murdered shortly after the movie was released. NOT for the faint hearted!!

Up, up and away!!!

Pasolini. Didn't know he was murdered. Wow, hum!
I heard about that film some time ago from an E-group I'm on. So you know about Cacophony, do you?

Ha ha.
There are so many examples of things I started doing independent of knowing that any other person was doing the same thing. A few years later I'd see that same is popular. But when I did it people would stare. A recent example is, Wizards. I have Wizard hats. I have been wearing stuff like that for years, had some capes made for me and everything. Now because Harry Potter is popular I've seen things like that in the stores. I know I'm not the 1st to have those clothes, there are the tournaments and all but I wear those things on the street, everyday. I assume people might think I got the idea from the books when I didn't.
Here's another example, in California, it's common to be anti-smokers, NOW. But years before the 1st law was ever passed about smoking in public I was complaining that that people who smoke stink. I was so happy when I found out others felt the same way. I used to not let anyone in my house who smoked. People thought it odd, then. But now smokers can't even be in an office building and smoke. There's more........

Yap, pretty much(anything goes). I see nothing wrong with necrophilism, you're the one who wrote that story about the doctor, didn't you?
I also think people don't give children enough credit for thinking on their own. Of course there are degrees there too.

There are always degrees. I'm the one who thinks most people don't see things that way.
