I saw a show once, and I seem to recall that it was a scientific show (not one of those unexplained mysteries shows). They were talking about hypnotism, and claimed that in certain instances, touching a cold piece of metal to a subject's skin, and telling them that it was hot, caused boils to form in the spot that was touched. I can't seem to find any reference to this. Anyone hear about that before?

after about 10 attempts to quit smoking, i went to a hypnotist. we did about 6 sessions and mostly concentrated on vizualization and relaxation techniques. Over the period of about 2 months i seemed to lose intrest in smoking and managed to quit. i also tried to lose weight with the help of another hypnotist, but did not. did i quit because of the hypnotist or was i ready to stop on my own? not sure, but will power is not my long suit.
