Snake, you're an enigma! you said...
quote: "....it tastes good so I want to try it. But if I didn't want the experience of the sights and sounds and flavor of the food I wouldn't want it." "Food is only fun if it's an experience."
Which I wholeheartedly agree with. The smell and sounds of a beautiful fillet steak is the fcuking shiznesss! Mmm Man! but then you say...
quote: "....I eat a lot of junk food..."
The first two comments are diametrically opposed to the third. But hey, one of my good friends swears by tv dinners and the whole processed food stuff. Me, I say, cardboard, the freaking lot of it! Oh yeah, back on thread. Ya freaking kidding me, right? He absorbs useable energy from the sun, into the 95% of his brain (which we don't use), as sustanance? Did I get that right? Hey this guy can live off bat shit for 10years, but he ain't getting no Big Macs in his eyes! |

Why? Unless I don't understand what you are saying, one of my comments was about the experience the other about the type of food. And never the twain shall meet. We are talking about (pardon the pun) apples and oranges. Can't one have fun eating junk food?

I only read that story once, don't recall it word for word but didn't it say he drank tea and some other 'nurishment'? That's what I meant when I said he might be getting enough to live on, even if it's not pallatable to the average person. |

Update: http://web.mid-day.com/news/world/2003/july/57637.htm
At this point, I'm wondering who's bullshitting whom. Is NASA trying to sleeze out of an embarrassing situation, or is it merely the usual, media ignorance?
All I can say is: Thank Quetzacoatl for the Daily Rotton!

Nah. It's more fun this way. Surely you enjoy a little suspense in life. I myself, ponder with bemusment the Great Mysteries, the questions that have beset H. sapiens since the beginning: Why is up? When is there? Is the coffee ready? How many hammers can dance on the head of a politition? Will the check bounce? Is NASA fucking nuts?

Of course, you know that the 95% that we don't use thing, is a myth... |

Maybe his brain is like the casmir engine. It can fire once, but that is all. The question is, has he used up his one good thought yet, or is he saving it? |

Just to tidy this thread up a bit, James Randi had this to say on Friday:quote: ...His wife had somewhat hyperbolized his claim — what a surprise! — and admitted that he also consumed buttermilk and fruit juices. The miracle begins to fade somewhat at this point, don't you think?
I wasn't too excited at yet another "breatharian" claim. What really interested me was whether NASA had actually expressed interest in this nonsense. Believe me, no federal agency can surprise me, in this period of our history where qualified physicists accept and endorse dowsing, the patent office issues patents for "free energy" machines, and hospitals officially allow witchdoctors in gowns to cast spells for patients. So I looked into that matter...
...I called a good friend who had an "in" with the system, who put me in touch with the person directly involved with the issues about which I had the question. I called, and told her my problem, to simply discover whether NASA was involved with this "living-on-sunlight" claim. Within half an hour, I was assured that no group within NASA had any knowledge of, nor involvement with, this nonsense.
Fine. That's what I'd hoped for. But within the hour, reading the web page of another group, a very well-informed and prestigious one, I was shocked to see that they'd been in touch with NASA over the same item, and had been told that NASA was active in this respect, with this man Manek! Who to believe?
Well, the official NASA spokesperson, Dolores Beasley, has now said she has no idea why press reports had claimed that NASA had invited Manek. NASA has no record of him being involved with them, in any way whatsoever. So, it's all a lie. What else is new?

Of course I do trust Randi but it looks like he can't rely on his sources either and anyway, what IF NASA was testing a secret weapon, would they REALLY tell anyone who could tell the public? |
