The CA Clown Show evolves yet further. Y'all bring a sixpack and I'll make some popcorn. It's getting better'n a Three Stooges show.

I seem to recall old Arnie being an Atheist. Can't really say where I read that; it's been quite a few years ago. If that came out, imagine the hornet nest that'd stir up. Being non-theist wouldn't necessarily make him a better gov, but what a hoot if true and he got elected. The fundies would be howling from their pews. Ha!

Which reminds me,....a few years ago Arnie S. was tapped by Pres. Bush Sr. to chair his President's Council of Physical Fitness, which required him travelling and educating thousands of school children about proper fitness. Imagine that, - the irony, with considering daddy Bushmaster's ignorant, bigoted comment about Atheists being second class non-patriotic citizens.

I did some googling but was unable to come up with any evidence that A.S. is an atheist. He did portray an atheist in one of his movies ("End of Days") -- perhaps that's led to some confusion.

In any case, I can't find any reason to think the Schwarz himself is (or is not) an atheist.

No Donnie, I'm recalling this from the mid 70's, when he was big time Mr. Olympia. May have been in a published interview back then.
Will be watching what the "muckrackers" drag up in the news.

It's amazing once one runs for public office the amount of muckraking that occurs.

They make the gossip magizines to amatuerish.....

I wonder if Arnie will honour us with a few of his famous, one-liners when asked about his politic stance on key issues:
(remember to say the Arnie reply in his accent)
Education.
Don't count on it!
Crime.
Don't even try.
Punishment.
I will take years off you.
and, foriegn policy,
Nuke 'em

It (Arnie-isms) has great potential for comic relief....

Mr. Schwarzenegger, what are your ideas concerning taxes?

"I want your clothes, your boots, and your motorcycle!"

Mr. Schwarzenegger, the california economy has been bled almost dry. What will you do about it?

"If it bleeds, we can kill it!"

Mr. Schwarzenegger, what is your stand on abortion?

Mr Schwarzenegger, you said during your campaign that you were not going to raise taxes....

Just now, yesterday, wasn't it, when asked about the economy, he said something to the effect that the citizens don't care about the figures.

That's chilling. And ya kbnow what? He's right!

I am becoming convinced that we are a nation of inattentive idiots who deserve no better that we get.

Schwarzenegger Running Out Of Movie-Related Campaign Slogans

LOS ANGELES—Two months after he announced his candidacy for the California gubernatorial recall election, Arnold Schwarzenegger is running out of movie-related campaign quips. "Government and special-interest groups should not be 'Twins,'" the actor said during the Sept. 24 debate. At a fundraising breakfast Monday, the actor told a confused group of business leaders, "I will 'Jingle All The Way' to Sacramento!" Breakfast attendee Ken Straus said Schwarzenegger "really hit the bottom of the barrel" minutes later, when the actor announced, "In the movies, I played Hercules going bananas. But it's the tax-and-spend Democrats who are really going bananas."

Umm. For the last few weeks, I've been going around saying that the people in CA simply are not stupid enough to vote this loutish amature into the state's highest office.

Oh, silly me!

From my latest reading of the polls, they just might put him in there (insert astounded smiley here).

A new question is: now that his randy and rather untidy past (and present) are common knowledge, and nude pics, some taken by the notorious Maplethorpe, are selling for large bucks, will the religious right actually be supporting him? I'm told that CA is home to lots of the super-faithful, and these people tend to get out and vote far more regulary than many other segments of our society (to our shame).

If so, wouldn't they be sorta redefining hypocracy?

Ah well; not living in California, there is not a whole lot I can do but sit back and watch it sugar off.

Wishing y'all CA folks luck.

I can only hope that the folks who will vote for someone who is famous for being famous will come to their senses and elect Angelyne instead.
