I attempted to read Battlefield Earth when I was in high school. ::Yawn:: That's why I was so surprised when the movie was made. Let's think about this: what kind of movie can be made from a dull convoluted book?

Not so surprising when you see that one of the most famous RonBots is a rich, occasionaly succesful actor who had been trying to get it made for years.

The curious thing is in the initial advertising there was talk of it costing aroun 80 million, yet according to the director they only had a budget of around 26 million. So what happened to all the extra money? I think there are several lawsuits from investors pending on that.

*cough* perhaps the OSA diverted some cash from their legal fund?

"The purpose of a lawsuit is to harass and discourage rather
than to win....Don't ever defend. Always attack. Find or manufacture
enough threat against them to cause them to sue for peace. Originate
a black PR campaign to destroy the person's repute and to discredit
them so thoroughly they will be ostracized..." - L. Ron. Hubbard

Well, looks like Travolta's repute has been ruined and he's been thoroughly discredited. $Cn's work is done

Good judgement comes from experience: experience comes from bad judgement.

Back to Urantia with more knowledge than before:

I have three books now on the subject:

1. *The Urantia Book* -- published by Urantia Foundation and, as I have read, written by extraterrestrials and channeled to Earthlings in recent years. I could be quite wrong about this.

2. *Urantia The Great Cult Mystery* by Martin Gardner (Prometheus Books).

3. *Concordex of The URANTIA Book*, by Clyde Bedell, 1898-1985 (approved, but not published, by the Urantia Foundation).

==========

I am not (and never have been) a believer in any religion, so have no fear. (My parents tried to force religion upon me, unsuccessfuly.) I am not about to change anything now.

==========

Anybody who is interested can get the above books. I find the Concordex excellent, because it gives me an idea of the contents of the whole, and I can splash around to my heart's content, finding references without getting soaked or up to my neck in *stuff*.

I should have checked my public library, first (much, much, much cheaper). However, I would not expect the books to be available at any of the university science libraries in my metropolitan area, since there is no science involved, to my knowledge.
