Recently, I had the pleasure of traveling several states north to visit family. An unfortunate result of this trip was the almost non-stop onslaught of the Fox News Network. At first, I found it amusing. However, the experience quickly became irritating.

Anyway, between the voyeuristic, twenty-four hour coverage of Michael Jackson's arrest I heard two stories that I decided to investigate further once home. The first was a reference to an article in the Spectator, (I assumed the American Spectator). The anchor reported that the article pointed directly to a long-standing and close relationship between the Iraqi government and the Al Queda. This was supposed to have been new and confirmed evidence. Also, I think that the name of the Journalist for the Spectator was Marc Carnegie, but I may be wrong.

The second story featured a lower level journalist having conclusive evidence that Bin Laden has been located in Iran.

Now, I'm home, and I haven't been able to confirm either story. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks Gez. That's probably the original story to the Iraq al Qeada connection. The report by the DOD is most likely why I haven't heard anymore about the story.

Yeah, the retraction was probably a token sound-bite somewhere between the Michael Jackson and Kobe Bryant "news"
