Hehe that's funny, but at the same time, the more I read, I realized how completely true it all is... and I wonder how funny that is ;) |

Farley writesquote: What follows is a blatant anti-Republican screed, unless it's a diatribe.
Plainly a diatribe. In list isquote: o Global warming and...are junk science....
Well, let's ask someone about as "Republican" as you can get. Am sitting here in library with Wall Street Journal. From page 2 is article quote:
Big Firms, Environmentalists Join To Save Canada's Boreal Forests
(Para. 2) "The boreal forests, which circle the globe's northern latitudes, make up one of the planet's few intact natural areas big enough to help buffer the effects of climate change caused by the burning of fossil fuels."
And just in case speed readers missed key point, in big bold block letters isThe forests can help buffer effects of climate change from furning fossil fuels. See. Even "Republicans" as staunch as Wall Street Journal authors have kids and grandchildren they want to see grow through adulthood. |

I'm sorry to hear you've been afflicted with Republicanism, Sea. Hopefully someday they'll develop a vaccine for that.
Perhaps you're unfamiliar with President Frat Boy's disregard for science, particularly evolution science, stem cell research, reproductive health science, and global warming. A few links to edjamacate you:
On this administration's disregard for science in general, and this was originally in The Washington Post:
http://atheism.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?site=http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp%2Ddyn/articles/A31318%2D2003Aug7.html
On stem cell research: http://slate.msn.com/id/2090244/
On evolution (and this is just disgusting):
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/1866476.stm
I'm sparing you here a diatribe on Bush's disastrous views on health in general: what his budget cuts do to health care for the middle class and poor, or how his "don't discuss abortion" policies have cut federal funding to third-world women's health centers, causing some to close and leaving some women with NO reproductive health care services.
Further (no, I'm not done yet), if you're tempted to dismiss these links or this information as liberally biased, note that New England Journal of Medicine, Nature, Lancet, and Science publications are voicing this concern. I don't believe any of those is known for any liberal bent. And BTW: you Republicans deserve every diatribe you get. You are fucking up my beautiful country--and yes, it's my country too. I pay taxes, I volunteer, I donate to charity and I have as much stake in my country's future as you do.
Now I'm off to buy Christmas presents. Irony duly noted. |

Am not afflicted by "Republican Partyism" Renae, so do not feel sorry for me.
Am of soldierly mind. Favor defence; dislike offensive. The need for offence means that you have done slovenly job of defence.
Believe that all biological researches should be immediately stopped. Believe that bio-reseachers are the true most-dangerous "terrorists" on Earth; is just that they have not yet fielded the most vile of their "weapons".
The present administrative of the U.S. of A. is actively involved in funding this hideous brand of extreme terrorism by asssuring that all bio-fields, most-particularly medical fields, can be well-paid via lots of TaxDollars.
Of course biological fields don't look, smell, or act like extreme terrorism yet, but neither did Al Kaida.
The way to stop a tree's growth is to "nip it in the bud" instead of letting it go until you have to do the drastic surgery of "topping" it. Good analogy. |

By the way Renae, there's an old saying that if you want to know the truth about something, "Follow the $Money$." Smart thought. So i read the Wall Street Journal. And the Finacial Times. They know the Truth, baby! |

Since I'm a Canadian, I dont nearly know enough about American politics, so please keep your hands off of your flame throwers for now . (BTW, I'm in a bad mood today).

Terrorists? Do what I just did, check your dictionnary for a definition (abusing vocabulary is a sure-fire way of getting flamed around here btw, for good reasons).
I dont know quite where to start... Let me reply to this line with one of your own quote Sea: "Follow the $Money$.". If there's a buck to be made, it will be. Read the WSJ. Or read the Financial Time. Oh, right, you already read these newspapers. And what do they say about bio-tech? Riiiiiight. To quote you again, "they know the Truth, baby!". There's some irony in here, I know it...
These people are not interested in the Truth. They want to be right, period. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems to be something quite "Republican" from where I'm standing.
quote: "The boreal forests, which circle the globe's northern latitudes, make up one of the planet's few intact natural areas big enough to help buffer the effects of climate change caused by the burning of fossil fuels."
You have no idea how scary/insulting that line is to a canadian. So that's it isn't? MY forest (well, my part of it anyways) is nothing more than a giant "tampon" for America's filth? I would really, really like to see the science behind that quote...
Man! I am in a foul mood today! Let me finish with a small joke I heard on the CBC tlast friday: "Happy Thanksgiving America! Hope you enjoy your turkey... You voted for him after all..." |

Now, I enjoyed that one. Problem is, I didn't vote for him, nor did the majority of US voters. But, it still made me laugh. |

quote: A president lying about an extramarital affair is an impeachable offense. A president lying to enlist support for a war in which thousands die is solid defense policy.
This certainly seems to be what most Republicans believe. And to top it off, it is an illegal war, as has been admitted by a top administration official. A war the reasons for which have changed over and over again; we still don't know the real reasons!
And many people think this president should, and will, be re-elected. What's the world coming to?

Money doesn't equal truth. And the Wall Street Journal's version of truth doesn't bear much resemblance to the truth that I know.
I don't know which is worse: worshipping at the altar of a judgmental, vengeful God or worshipping at the altar of a capitalistic economic ideology.
I also can't believe you think all biological research should be stopped. I'm assuming you don't include stem cell research, cancer research, or any other medical research. Because only a truly mean-spirited person wants to see others suffer.
I'm gonna assume you meant bioterrorism research or something, and not real medical research.
Edited to be more civilized. Because I'm a nice person. Really. |

Do Republicans really believe this stuff?
o Being a drug addict is a moral failing and a crime, unless you're a conservative radio host. Then it's an illness and you need our prayers for your recovery.
Some of these opinions are facts not beliefs. Being a drug addict is a crime. And until and unless we make all drugs legal it always will be.
o Government should relax regulation of Big Business
Well, yes. It should.
o “Standing Tall for America” means firing your workers and moving their jobs to India.
Because until Big Business gets it they will have to go elsewhere. Damn unions.
o Jesus loves you, and shares your hatred of homosexuals and Hillary Clinton.
If Jesus hates Hillary, I'm for Jesus.
o Providing health care to all Americans is socialism.
It is Socialism. And it's not a fair way to take money from one person and give it to another.
o Global warming
Isn't the 'jury' still out on that one? Do we know for a fact that there's a danger to Earth and that 'global warming' is causing it?
o The public has a right to know about Hillary's cattle trades, but George Bush's driving record is none of our business.
Yes the public does have the right to know about Hillary, because people with the power to make laws about business can't be doing business while representing the public. But personal matters such as driving tickets are not the concern of anyone else.
o You support states' rights, which means Attorney General John Ashcroft can tell states what local voter initiatives they have a right to adopt. States rights are most important. Or else we wouldn't be able to have favorable abortion laws for example. How can the Attorney General tell states what to do? |
