It seems like the holidays get to be a bigger bummer every year. I'm altogether sick of what has become a meaningless Thanksgiving; a mere prelude, a warm-up, if you will, for the sado/masochistic excess' of greed and potlatch that has become Christmas.
What it is, I think, we need some solid, Thanksgiving inspriation, here. Mrs, Betty Bowers, the World's Greatest Christian, is attempting to provide exactly that.

Of course, it's a bit late for Thanksgiving at the moment, but her prayerful remarks should stand us in good stead next year, and I see no reason that it cannot be adapted to our soon-upcoming, annual spasm of worshipful gluttony.
