Further evidence that Hovind's challenge is unwinnable.

He's now got a section on his web site titled "$250,000.00 submissions," in which there is a single entry. This entry is numbered 1, which is only slightly misleading.

Kevin R. Henke, and Dr. Barend Vlaardingerbroek and Christopher J. Roederer attempted to negotiate contracts with Hovind about his challenge and its parameters, and surely would have made submissions had they been able to reach a fair agreement with Hovind. So, the entry now on Hovind's site may indeed be the first actual submission, but it is assuredly not the first attempt at collecting Hovind's (perhaps non-existent) money.

Furthermore, the entry on the site, from "Brenda," goes on about St. Germain and theosophy. It is, primarily, unreadable as it makes numerous statements which require definition, which is simply absent. It appears as though Brenda believes that everyone has read the same books as she. Brenda's web page, the one she refers Hovind to, is no more comprehensible than her email to him. But the real point I would like to make is based upon the following, a part of Brenda's email to Hovind:
The Saint Germain Foundation still wishes us to live as if life began only 4 million years ago and they do not want us to try to access the past for human beings any further back then that. The Theosophical Society, however, gives us a different problem to deal with. THE SECRET DOCTRINE presents many hints and various details regarding the cycles of human existence far, far back in years, even before the earth existed.
Clearly, Brenda is not talking about evolution as taught in the textbooks, but some sort of strange theosophical "evolution" of mankind in "cycles."

Does Hovind comment on this disparity? Not at all, even though it is clear from his writings about his challenge that it is textbook evolution which requires proof. The taxpayers don't fund the teaching of "theosophic" evolution, after all.

Hovind simply states that what Brenda has written is "speculation," and so it doesn't appear that he has the simple integrity it would take to properly dismiss Brenda's "submission" as an entirely different religion. He instead uses her email as another excuse to ridicule evolution as a "religion," even though Brenda's "evolution" is not the same evolution that he so despises.

Add this to the list of reasons why his challenge appears to be bogus.

I wonder what he would say were someone to send him a paper on, for example, "The Evolution of Free-Market Economies in South America," or some other wholly different kind of evolution. Would he note the incongruity between such a submission and what he asks for, or would he simply label it "guesswork" and toss it away?

OK. Major scary boo time. I actually know about what she's talking about and sans the reference to "The Secret Doctorine", I can translate.

Theosophy embraces all religions as valid. It is more of a meeting place for religions to learn about one another and carry an extensive library on many different religions.

Now, for cycles. I'll try to explain this subset of reincarnation theorists.

One must accept the following assumptions for this theory to be valid.

1) There is an extra-mortal part of ourselves. We'll call it a "soul". These "souls" have different starting dates.

2) The universe has been created and destroyed more than once. Current concensus is that the universe is in it's third iteration.

3) "Souls" are created when the population grows to a point to where all the available souls have been allocated. Therefore, one has "old" souls and "new" souls.

4) Each "cycle" is from the creation of the universe to the destruction of the universe.

5) Later universes have lasted longer than the previous. Souls which were created by the diety can be referred to as being a number of "cycles" old.

Hmmm. Sounds like a case of Body Thetans to me. I'd say someone needs a good auditing. How much cash do you have on you?
