I think it must be christ's secret pal Howie. |

I've read about that. Here we go again.
One of the aspects of the Shroud that bothers me is that it shows a man of some 6 feet tall. Someone that tall would have been an anomily in the Holy Lands in that day. As I recall, the arkies tell us that the average hight for the men of these people was somewhere between 5'3'' to about 5'6'' or so.
I don't know about the reverse image (a soak-through at the time of menfacture, perhaps?). I'm sure we'll be hearing all about it before long, both ways.

My hypothesis is that the Shroud of Turin is the actual burial shroud of a crucifixion victim...just not Jesus. Perhaps a man of European descent crucified in Palestine in the 1st Century A.D. |

The shroud has been revealed to be a hoax already, albeit a very old hoax, and adding another face to it doesn't make it any less of a hoax.
I don't think this new claim is going to get the Skeptical Enquirer to write yet another story on this thing, but who knows....
But, I do have a theory...If it is real, the new face has got to Dubya talking to the Father about invading other nations. |

The cloth isn't old enough for it to be a 1st century crucifixion. |

True, Valiant Dancer - the ones to know (scientist) has dated the shroud to somewhere between the early to mid 1300's. http://www.mcri.org/Shroud.html |

For many years, I'd thought that Piltdown Man was the greatest April Fool's jape of all time. I was wrong.....
