Alright, two questions:

1.) In searching for some statistics on evolution, I came across this website:

"The most insidious and damaging ideology ever foisted upon the mind of modern man is the notion that human beings are but animals, and the offspring of other, more primitive creatures." - http://www.christiancourier.com/archives/whyEvolution.htm

So basically they are claiming that humans are not even animals? Do creationists believe that we somehow differ from motile, heterotropic, respitory, multi-cellular creatures (I think I'm missing a few characteristics)? I would really like to hear verlch's views on this.

2.) The statistics I was actually looking for I could not find, that is comparing the % of people in the U.S. who "believe" (know) that evolution exists, to the % of the entire world. Anyone know where to find anything like this?

Why continue? Because we must. Because we have the call. Because it is nobler to fight for rationality without winning than to give up in the face of continued defeats. Because whatever true progress humanity makes is through the rationality of the occasional individual and because any one individual we may win for the cause may do more for humanity than a hundred thousand who hug their superstitions to their breast.

Due the the font size, I didn't read the whole thing, but the gist I caught is that it's the same, old booshwa. In my darker moments, I sometimes think that some people should not be allowed access to a computer. Nor even a pencil, for that matter.

I don't have any numbers for you but I have read, and see no reason to doubt it, that among nations with a Christian majority, the US has the greatest percentage of ostrichs Creationists in the world. As I remember, this is followed by Austrailia. This does not take into account the lands where other faiths, virtually all having a creation myth, predominate.

Well, I can understand that, which is why I was asking for evolution, and I am not suprised, I searched for at least an hour and came up empty handed. Thanks anyway.

This came off a post that I think was posted on this forum, about how there is no word in the German language for Creationist, but now I can't seem to find that post either.
