Underlying the evolutionary theory is not just the classic "stuff" of science — conclusions arrived at through prolonged observation and experimentation. Evolution is first an atheistic, materialistic world view. In other words, the primary reason for its acceptance has little to do with the evidence for or against it. Evolution is accepted because men are atheists by faith and thus interpret the evidence to cor-respond to their naturalistic philosophy.

We have not seen such moral darkness since the dark ages, coencides with teaching evolution in schools. (Moral darkness)

"Thus, many scientists embracing naturalism find themselves in the seeming dilemma recently articulated by biochemist Franklin Harold: "We should reject, as a matter of principle, the substitution of intelligent design for the dialogue of chance and necessity [i.e., Darwinian evolution]; but we must concede that there are presently no detailed Darwinian accounts of the evolution of any biochemical system, only a variety of wishful speculations."

While you're dealing with absurdities (humans evolve into non-sentient balls of gas, evolution is now associated with New Age religion instead of atheism, Darwin made money off his theory of Evolution),, why not pick one of the 150+ unsupported assertions you've made and actually try to support it without namecalling.

Actually, verlch has asked a pretty good question. What indeed, will we evolve imto, assuming our species lasts another couple hundred thousand years (some assumption that one is -- me, I doubt it)?
What with all the genetic messing around -- and I've no doubt that human genes will soon be messed with, if they're not already -- it's really impossible to do more than speculate. Dial-a-baby, eh? Whaddya want in a child? A super football player with a 200 IQ, that doesn't eat much and never wets the bed, perhaps? No sooner said than done, sir and madam! Would you like a hot wax on that?
Worst case scenero: we bomb our idiot selves back to the Stone Age and the survivors evolve from there.
Tell me what you think, verlch.

Once again hes just making a statement based on faulty logic: Evolution has no purpose or goal, humanity is not destined to become anything. In fact we will likely bypass evolution and manipulate our genetics directly from now on.
Noting darwins faults in no way lessens the validity or mountainous evidence supporting evolution.
Saying Darwinian evolution has been disproved is like saying Newtonian physics has been disproved by Einsteins equations. In reality evolution has modified with time and evidence just as the laws of physics have been expanded with time and study. |

That'd just change the mechanism of evolution from natural selection to artificial selection. So long as the alleles in the human gene pool change, evolution is occuring, no matter what the driving force. |

And all this ignores the fact that verlch is nothing but a big fucking troll. Honestly-- after weeks of inactivity, this idiot comes back and fires off a new volley from out of left field wherein he rhetorically (I think) asks if men will evolve into stars. He can't be serious.
If this guy even remotely cared, he'd at least stick to more germaine creationist arguments-- shit about carbon dating or fossils or whatever. But he's not serious-- he's a troll. He knows that the best way to generate discussion is to post the most absurd idea possible and watch the replies pour in.
I for one was hoping that no one would reply but alas. At least the discussion has turned from verlch's dumbass comment to the more interesting question of human evolution in the post-industrial/post-nuclear/computer age... |

I enjoy verlch, mainly because within all of his nonsense, there are a few pearls that can lead to a good discussion. And even the nonsense is entertaining.
Sez I, let us encourage him.

That verlch has a problem with the terminology is not a good reason for misusing that terminology. Hell, he thinks that if evolution happens, then we should be able to watch bunnies grow wings. His understanding of the subject is so poor that trying to dumb the explanations down doesn't help, so we might as well be precise. |

The next step in evolution is "Whatever works best in the current environment." It isn't guided. There is no goal beyond whatever works. It's completely random otherwise. Humans could conceivably evolve to small brains. Doesn't sound like progress, but then if the environment changes to suite lower intelligence, then there shall we go. (Unless of course the smart humans intervene and sterilize the dumb ones. ) |

He doesn't want to understand and is not open to learning about the subject except to find bullet points he can exaggerate into absurdities to help shore up the ignorance of others like him. No matter how you dumb it down it would make no difference. Indeed, you might play into his hands that way, making it easier for him to distort the truth for purposes of ridicule. |
