Uhhhh, I have seen you blast Hillary here Snake without giving a single reason. She's Just ugly, pushy etc.

I'm entitled to my opinion.
quote:

Have any examples? Ugly is a personal opinion but we don't, hopefully, elect officials based on physical appearance(yeah go ahead and laugh).

Actually we do! Haven't you seen any of those reports about choosing someone on the basis of looks only? I believe people also choose because of a name, too.(like ethnic for example, I'd pick Asian over anyone else if I didn't know the candiates) Sometimes people will vote for anything but ideals.
quote:

I felt the pushy label was part of the character assasination you are now parroting. Why exactly do you find her to be pushy.
Because she is, just look at her attitude when she speaks. She also appears to act phoney when talking to or about the 'little people'. Her idea about 'it takes a village', that's socialistic. As you know I'm a Libertarian, do I need to say more?
quote:

As for qualifications, Hillary spent years as a lawyer. What better job for a lawmaker than someone that knows how laws work? She also has spent years inside the belltway and can get things done...intelligent things.

Intelligent? That's a matter of opinion too.
I saw those news clips of her years ago, before the Supreme Court, I think it was. She had that same 'know it all attitude'then too. Just rubs me the wrong way.
I happen to respect lawyers, unlike many people who make jokes about them. Having said that, just because someone IS a lawyer, doesn't mean he is intelligent, there are plenty of bad ones too. And one need not be a lawyer to represent us. Maybe a businessman might do a better job in many areas!
quote:
of course, that remains to be seen, but thanks for showing the damage done by the character assasination done to Hillary.

Don't know what you mean by that.
quote:

I will be fair here and add that the current President cannot be blamed for much of what has gone on with the economy. Though I read some commentary that publicly wondered why the President appeared so worried about the economy in his first days in office instead of showing what was going right and trying to do anything to fix it.

Just proves the point that politicians will say anything and whatever they think people want to hear. No matter what party they are in.
[quote]
Clinton entered office when the economy was a bit better but not much. The budget was balanced. Taxes were not cut to do this. Dunno why republicans always say tax cuts help the economy and when they finally are cut the economy goes in the toilet. But that's worth its own thread.
@tomic

Yes, @, it is. I've been in the stock market for 30 years and have seen all the ups and downs, as I said in the other post, the economy has too many components to blame or praise one president or party for it's direction.

As of the last few elections, Libertarian , stright party ticket all the way, Baby!
I used to change back and forth all the time between Rep. and Dem., many times as a lot of people do, decided upon whom to vote for by choosing the 'lesser of the two evils'
When I found out about the Libertarians many years ago, they fit so exactly with my philosophy of what government is about. Still there were not a lot of them running for office at 1st but now, No need to get dizzy deciding anymore, they are in office and more to choose from.

Do you think a lawyer will make it before the Supreme Court if they are not confident? Do you hold all lawyers to this "know it all" standard or just Hillary.

And I never said you were not entitled to your opinion. i was just asking you to back up what you said with.....anything.

Bush is so underqualified to be a president, it makes me upset that there were enough people who voted for him to make the election even close. Can the idiot even read? Well, I suppose he can, or otherwise how would he be able to speak in public at all? Have we "misunderestimated" the dunce or what? Beware of more idiots!

Just Hillary.
Oh, and any other pushy women lawyers.
Not all lawyers have to have an 'attitude' to be effective. Kil and I were at a meeting today, the speaker was a well known lawyer for the 'Cause' who, I think, without being obnoxious got his points across very well. Ask Kil! LOL, I bet Kil won't back me up about the Hillary remarks though.

One can't back up an opinion!
I don't like her, what else could I say.

One does have to wonder what went on. Gore was being an idiot too, having them count and looking at tiny chips of paper falling off the ballot. The whole election was a joke. But the public image Bush presents is really that of a clown.

LOL, I thought you were going to say, he has to be able to read to look at the speeches they write for him.

I've tried to watch when he talks, wanted to be sure I am not being too critical of him BUT so far I can't find anything to make me think he intelligent. He knows not how to give a public speech. He um's and a's and uses 'baby' words, how could he have even gotten through Jr. high school?

Billy, I can't tell you how much you just depressed me. What happened to the ideals of the government of the U.S.A.? You mean the White House is for sale? (an idiot can get in if he pays enough money, calls in enough favors!?)
