quote:
Ray Charles:
Music's been around a long time, and there's going to be music long after Ray Charles is dead," he told the Washington Post in 1983. "I just want to make my mark, leave something musically good behind. If it's a big record, that's the frosting on the cake, but music's the main meal.

I want to thank Ray Charles for being a major part of the soundtrack of my life. From the time I was a kid right up to his passing his music has never been anything less than thrilling to me. The pain I feel upon hearing of his death is like that of loosing a family member. The same pain I felt when John Lennon was killed. I suppose music has that power. It can touch us in profound ways.

So, even though you probably can't hear me, Thanks Ray...

Uncertainty may make you uncomfortable. Certainty makes you ridiculous.

Why not question something for a change?

He can't hear you, but we'll be hearing him for a long time. That's one thing that I'm grateful to the Blues Brothers for, getting some of the greats in one room and on video.

Legends never die , and Ray is without question a legendary musician.
