Talk about slaughter - every morning I murder millions of bacteria when I brush my teeth.
Sometimes I will selfishly ingest poisons to kill untold lives simply to feel better.
I frequently murder mosquitos when they are simply trying to get enough protein to reproduce.

I guess I don't mind killing things as long as they are real little.

If I knew then what I know now then I would know more now than I know.

"I guess I don't mind killing things as long as they are real little."

And when you can't hear them scream.

Edit: I think both of your examples are bad because the only way each to survive is to harm you. Since they are parasites, its much more ok to kill them. Certainly, if a cow (haha, ok, just go with it) was attacking a vegitarian, I don't think a vegitarian would have any problem with harming the cow.

Why continue? Because we must. Because we have the call. Because it is nobler to fight for rationality without winning than to give up in the face of continued defeats. Because whatever true progress humanity makes is through the rationality of the occasional individual and because any one individual we may win for the cause may do more for humanity than a hundred thousand who hug their superstitions to their breast.

I'm just wondering if anyone thinks that eating animals is wrong only when you have B12 supplements, and less wrong when you don't have a choice?

I think they have to be really ugly as well.
