Ok, all you turkeys who rant and rave with no justification whatever that speciation has never been observed, dig it:

quote:
People have flocked to a small village on the outskirts of Cambodia's capital after a man claimed that his ten-year-old pet dog has defied nature and the ancient tradition of her species reviling cats and given birth to a kitten.

Owner Te Huot told Deutsche Presse-Agentur that his dog, called Knou, gave birth to a grey tabby kitten after he was visited by a forest monk who claimed that the dog had mated with a tiger.

I have no doubt that even Hovind would believe this, as it is right up the typical, Creationist ally.

Finally, this is the proof Evolutionists have been waiting for...

National Geographic should run this story immediately.

Hold up, are you not skeptical about this? Or was that sarcastic (I can't tell)?

The claim is a dog mated with a tiger and gave birth to a kitten..... Come on. Until we see some DNA analysis, I think we can dismiss this based on the fact that its an absurdity.

Why continue? Because we must. Because we have the call. Because it is nobler to fight for rationality without winning than to give up in the face of continued defeats. Because whatever true progress humanity makes is through the rationality of the occasional individual and because any one individual we may win for the cause may do more for humanity than a hundred thousand who hug their superstitions to their breast.

I don't know Ricky if a tiger mated with me I'd be so upset I'd have kittens, too.

Sorry, Ricky. I guess it was somewhat of an obscure reference.

Filthy has a post from awhile back (In Verlch's Assertions--pg. 1) about the Archaeoraptor fossil, the specimen put forward as supposed evidence of the dinosaur/modern bird connection. National Geographic ran an article on it, then scientists officially declared it a hoax. National Geographic had dino egg on it's face and had to publish a retraction. Creationists had a field day, and continue still to crow about how "scientists" were duped into believing a hoax. (Even though it has been pointed out countless times that National Geographic isn't a scientific publication, it's a popular one.)

So, my little joke was that NG wouldn't have learned its lesson and would be quick to publish an even more incredible story concerning evolution. Yeah, I guess it's not funny when you have to explain it...

The truly hilarious part about the Archaeoraptor flim-flam is that it is still a very valuable fossil. The parts were of previously unknown species from the same era.

Looks to me like the joke's on the Creationists, as usual.

Hey, something similar happened to me. Apparently, my rosebushes cross-generated with the poppies, and then out grew a pumpkin.

Yo mama's so fat, she's on both sides of the family.

Never been to California? I think she meant the pretty ones.

There was that article a while back about an Iranian woman giving birth to a frog.

Shouldn't this be in the humor section?

Actually, I thought the Iranian woman thing might have been some sad thing like a hydatiform mole and a real bad OBGYN.

Uhh, ok I followed that link and I'm not certain that's even English.

I recognize "with" and "of." Can I have a translation in "layman's" terms?

Edit: Ok, I thought I'd be resourceful and google it myself, but then I clicked a link that took me straight to some freaky pictures and now I'm all weirded out.

I'm reminded of the 200 pound fallopian cyst that was removed from a woman a couple of years back. It actually had hair and teeth, which I wouldn't have thought possible. As might be expected, the tabloids made a huge deal of it -- ceasaran birth of a monster, and so forth.

Not sure, but the daily Rotten might have a pic of it.

Funny thing about the internet...The National Enquirer can have a sordid affair with National Geographic and out pops the perverse DailyRotten and Rotten.com. It's enough to fill Matt Drudge with tons of warm, glowing pride.
