I received a piece of junk email tonight that read "Are Ghosts Real? Proof Inside."
Proof? Wow, and to think I almost deleted this important information without reading it first. So being bored I endeavored to discover this proof, which required me filling out several pages of bogus infomation and answering yes/no questions on my desire to win various amounts of cash and electronics. After jumping through the appropriate hoops, the following link was presented:
http://www.ebaumsworld.com/ghosts.html
Ah, so a free flash video was the proof they were referring to? Nice. But anyway, the presentation is a fun little romp through variously distorted pictures, audio clips and videos purportly featuring ghosts.
I was thinking we could go through and see how many of these we could debunk, as most seem to be either cases of pareidolia, double-exposures, or reflections and shadows. Actually, perhaps it might be easier to list only those that defy easy explanation.
A few of the ones that seemed most convincing to me upon first viewing were: 1) The one labeled "halloween ghost" showing a cowboy in a cemetery 2) "Treehouse man" 3) the door closing itself on command 4) the video of the "woman in a dress" when no one was wearing a dress and 5) the last photo of the open doorway.
Feel free to post explanations or favorites.
P.S. I was going to put this in the "paranormal" folder, except there isn't one.

That is a fun video. It would be a good one to watch with a bunch of kids around halloween. Of course there is no way of knowing about any of the background on these things, but fun and scary none the less. The spookiest by far is having your mother-in-law being a back-seat driver the rest of your life. Jesus, now that gives me the creeps.....

That sucker took long enough to load, but it was worth it. Very interesting and I recognized a couple of pics I've seen before.
Thanks for the lookit!

Ha Ha! I agree about the mother-in-law. Yeah, I was thinking the same thing about the audio clips--without knowing how they were recorded it's impossible to comment upon what they contain--but the same can really be said about all the "evidence" presented.
And they called this proof! I was lied to, dammit.
