OMG I am so getting a Doctorate of Divinity. This is going to be sweet. Hello, pay raise.

By the way, this debate brought me to these forums from iidb (internet infidels) and, particularly, this thread.

I hope you'll stay here a while longer and browse around. I found this while researching creationist claims of 6-day creation.

So, the patterns in your assumed two-million-year-old light aren't necessarily the evidence you think they are. It could be an unshifted pattern of a substance which no longer exists at all, or only exists in M31, which is actually only a few million miles away, but because velocity slows down the farther you get from Earth...

So you see, if simple theories are not acceptable, then the invention of more and more ad hoc, epicycle-like explanations is required. You are assuming that because quantum theory matches what we see, then it is actually correct. But it could just be a large batch of lucky guesses, and the underlying laws behind the observations are all completely different.

I still doubt she has her Masters. If anything, she's just started a Master's degree program. In one of the deleted posts, tk wrote this to a recently banned poster:
quote:
How many times do I have to say this? Personal attacks like this are not allowed against one's sources. So if we can prove that tksgurl lied about her educational background, tk must ban his girlfriend per his own rules.

If tkgurl has been reading her dorm-mate's sloppy handwritten notes from a lecture, then it is entirely possible she misread "CDC19" as being "ccdi9", and misinterpreted its application.

So it comes down to an epic battle of who's bullshit stinks the least. If tksgurl wins
(she won't because they will be doing battle at a creationist site) it might be good for Gould that he won't be around to see his theory twisted beyond all recognition. On the other hand, he might have been mildly amused given fact that this debate means absolutely nothing...

Oh, this is tooooo rich.

tk has posted the new rules for his debate forum. Within those rules, he states,
I have always found atheists to be very dirty people - and they have yet to prove otherwise.
Yet, in this other thread, tksgurl says,
courtney and i are atheists...
So the only conclusion I can draw is that tk's got a dirrrrty girl. Naughty, naughty, tk.

<smirk>

Congrats on making the "approved" list, Ricky.

In The Six Day Creationist Newsletter 2.0, tk writes: "Kevin Davis [kevkev] and Hannah Foster have together gotten over 700 people to sign up – that is amazing!"

He also posted this "interview:"
quote:

T. Smith: First give the readers your basic info: name, degree, etc, etc.

Hannah: Hannah Foster, from LA, moved to Abilene TX, going to Texas Tech majoring in Philosophy/Science/Family Studies. I am currently writing a book on how deluded religious people are.

What do you think is today's problems?
Interviews, no I'm kidding. The religious. They are all ignorant and deluded, but most of all: selfish. I give more money than any religious person on this planet.

<snip>

And your solution?

Science. Church people get torn to shreds when you hammer them with science because they are so ignorant. Gullibility is the prerequisite to being religious.

<snip>

Anyway, what readers probably want to know is why would and atheist want to get a CREATIONIST newsletter?

I know you, I went out with you for 13 months, I know you favor science of religious delusions; second you have the greatest sense of humor; third this newsletter allows all points of views even if it differs from yours, and that is hard to find in this world; and last intelligent humor is hard to find.

<snip>

And because you're intelligent, what do you plan to do with your life?

Marry you and have your five daughters.

And cook too? Kidding, ok Hannah this isn't the fifties, no really what do you plan to do with your life?

Take away the religious in America, they are stupid and annoying. Then after that, go after the Muslims in the rest of the world.

So, Hannah says, "this newsletter allows all points of views even if it differs from yours." Hmm. Maybe we should be asking to get our responses printed in his newsletter, since we can't seem to get a fair shake on his forums. She also seems to be far more negative about religion than any of the atheists I've seen try to post there. Perhaps that's just her wonderful sense of humor coming out though.

Well, let's see...

None of the early newsletters have publication dates on them. Sheesh.

Newsletter 1 says,
Apparently after the invasion of Iraq none of these "weapons of mass destruction" have been found like all of us were led to believe.
So it was written well after March of 2003.

Newsletter 2 discusses this event, and also talks about "October 11th" in the past tense.

To go from "majoring in Philosophy/Science/Family Studies" (newsletter 2) to having a masters in biochemistry in under a year is way too much to believe. She may be dreaming about a biochem PhD, but it looks like she's got at least another five years before she'll get it.

Especially since he asked for her degree, and she responded only with her majors--meaning she hadn't even finished her undergraduate classes.

So, can we safely call her a liar yet?

Perhaps. But I'm curious for what purpose/motives she has given two different bios. And which one is correct? Perhaps she is now on a mission to fool creationists of different kinds, and as such is being forced to deceive us as well to maintain cover? More investigation is needed before we can start carving conclusions in stone. We are after all skeptics.

It seems pretty clear she's lying about her education. That should be enough, by tk's admin rules, to get her banned from his site. Somebody should point it out to him.

Well I personally won't do any of the sort until we have something concrete, although it seems as if we are approaching that.

Anyways, she isn't responding to any of my pm's, although inbetween she has posted at skeptictimes, so my only guess is that she is ignoring them. I will wait a week, send another pm, wait another week, then I'd say we would have enough to say she is lying about ccdi9.

Great digging with her education guys, I plan to try my hand at it, possibly wednesday, as well.

Edit:

Do you think I should bring her education to light in the forum? Or should we try to find some more things first?

Why continue? Because we must. Because we have the call. Because it is nobler to fight for rationality without winning than to give up in the face of continued defeats. Because whatever true progress humanity makes is through the rationality of the occasional individual and because any one individual we may win for the cause may do more for humanity than a hundred thousand who hug their superstitions to their breast.

Yeah, but tk vouched for her, meaning he would have to ban himself as well. I mean he dated her for over a year, so he knows her background. When Ricky claimed he had no idea what "ccdi9" was and so couldn't counter it without a further explanation, tk said something to the effect of "Hannah's the biochemist. She knows what she's talking about. The point stands!" (Original post deleted)

It would seem these darn creationists are almost as bad as those "dirty" evolutionists when it comes to lying.
