Not that I think banning atheists is ok but I pointed out to him that I too am agnostic....

tk doesn't know what an atheist is.... he thinks it's a religion. rofl...

Seriously, tk thinks that evolution is a religion and that atheism is evolution. You are going for way too much expecting him to comprehend the difference between atheism and agnosticism.

Why continue? Because we must. Because we have the call. Because it is nobler to fight for rationality without winning than to give up in the face of continued defeats. Because whatever true progress humanity makes is through the rationality of the occasional individual and because any one individual we may win for the cause may do more for humanity than a hundred thousand who hug their superstitions to their breast.

Could it be Mark Schnitzius? I'm going to make a wild guess and say that it's this Mark Schnitzius. This page claims he said the quoted line on alt.atheism. Might even be the same Mark Schnitzius who originally set up and webmastered the Elvis Costello Home Page.

Atheism, for some people, is the worship of science. Only science could care less if you worship it or not.

But even worship of science cannot be equated to religious faith, due to the nature of science itself. There are 50,000+ faiths out there and only one of them requires acurate data and accountability, with no faith required. Unfortunatly this point is rarely absorbed by the other 50,000+.

"...things I have neither seen nor experienced nor heard tell of from anybody else; things, what is more, that do not in fact exist and could not ever exist at all. So my readers must not believe a word I say." -Lucian on his book True History

"...They accept such things on faith alone, without any evidence. So if a fraudulent and cunning person who knows how to take advantage of a situation comes among them, he can make himself rich in a short time." -Lucian critical of early Christians c.166 AD From his book, De Morte Peregrini

Holy Shit! This theory of Creation nearly won me over to the Creationist side!
Or perhaps not, but it gave me a good laugh.
Anyway, I'm off to participate in the same kind of research he did.
