Ricky, be sure to point out to jimi that Dr. Mercola is making lots of money from his claims. Specifically, I'm talking about this thread and this thread.

I pity the individuals who listen to tkster's radio show.

However, I'm a bit confused. How difficult is it to start up your own radio show? What is involved? I'm surprised that someone like Tkster has his own radio show! :S

"This may sound really off the wall, but listen to me. You've got to believe me. I've not gone crazy, and I'm not fooling around. At first I thought I was losing my mind. But now I know I'm not. It's not me. The scientific community. It's being invaded by Creationism. Someone's ignorant delusions come to life. Little by little, the
invasion is spreading. Trying to swallow up everything in ignorance."

The words of Dr. Harry to the disbelieving scientific community, who were amazed that such idiotic ideals as "Creationism" would ever be taken seriously.

Let us not be too hasty in deriding tkstr's gab show. He could be on his way to great things, you know. After all, the esteemed Dr? Dino had to make his start somewhere.

Who knows, in a couple of years, we might see tkstr begin building a theme park, selling motormouth tapes, writing for Jack Chick, and generally bilking the ever-willing faithful.

And we will have had the privilege of witnessing his genesis.

Just to clarify, the above quote was talking about medical claims, not Creation/Evolution.

Why continue? Because we must. Because we have the call. Because it is nobler to fight for rationality without winning than to give up in the face of continued defeats. Because whatever true progress humanity makes is through the rationality of the occasional individual and because any one individual we may win for the cause may do more for humanity than a hundred thousand who hug their superstitions to their breast.

HEY! I listened to his show....

Its not really a "radio show" any more than it is JD and tkster talking into a mic while recording it on their computer, then zipping the mp3 file and putting it on the site for downloading. Half the time some one signs on to aim and you can hear the sound of the door opening.

Ah damn, my bad. I got confused because mostly what JD talked about on the radio show was medical claims, I thought this was about medicine as well. This quote was talking about NDEs.

That's kind of pathetic.

Poor, poor wimps. They don't have the cojones to sit, read and actually -gasp- think. They must boost their own egos by talking to a mic...

Since this thread was about Jimi's posting, and seeing that Jimi has already commented of the debate on the Skptic Times "Radio show" my answer is this:
Jimi, Talk is cheap

Edit: formatting

Dr. Mabuse whisper.mp3

The Skeptic Times forums appear to be dying. As far as I can tell, there have been only two posts over there since last Thursday, both by the same newbie.

But did it eve have that much traffice? It seemed to me that it was largely made up of tkster and a few friends over at Texas Tech talking about various topics related to sex. That or posting interesting things like "'sup."

Speaking of that, check this out.

I Want To Be Awesome...LoL

I finally sent a letter to tk suggesting he go look at this thread.
We had a short email exchange that concluded with this letter back from tk…

quote:
tk:
Yes and forum [sic] in general invite all sorts of problems. However, as long as it is considered a peer network, which it will be soon enough, these kind of things are allowed.

take care,
tk

So yes, the forum seems to be toast. As for allowing 16 year olds to ask for advice in bed, I do not believe that is legal no matter what the format is…

I did a copy of the Debate-thread in case the forum is taken down.
It serves as an excellent example of people believeing in Mr. bag-full-of-hot-air Hovind.

I saw your post over here, Mabs. But since then, only Kil has responded. Indeed, you and Kill are the first two to post in the debate forum since November 11! Dave is obviously right that thair forum is dying. Too bad, since the creation-evolution debate was clearly a traffice generator-- only the abortion debate came close in views, and it's still hundreds behind...

The forum is changing:

The forum will be called "Universe City" Forums, and the website will be the hope of the Skeptic Times Newsletters, and some other humorous satire as it pretty much has been. Just eliminate the science and philosophy and bible shit

So no rebuttal means we win for all time right?

"...things I have neither seen nor experienced nor heard tell of from anybody else; things, what is more, that do not in fact exist and could not ever exist at all. So my readers must not believe a word I say." -Lucian on his book True History
