quote: Evidence: Observable and measurable material that can be used to demonstrate things unless the conclusions drawn from it contradict the overriding truth of a literal Genesis.
quote: False: That which disagrees with a literal interpretation of the Bible, especially Genesis.
quote: Flintstones, The: Cartoon in which early human life is portrayed accurately, including interactions with dinosaurs. quote:
Moon craters: Possibly the result of a supernatural battle between Satan and Michael.
There's lots more. Kind of scary, though, that there are those who would agree with these. Anyway, enjoy!

After the Flintstones sillinesss, I especally liked this one:

That's the only thing in there that actually makes sense.

Mercy sakes, how do these people even find their way to the dinner table, and avoid injuring themselves with a fork when they get there?

This is crazy. I could go out and find a bunch of morons who were evolutionists, and collect some pretty stupid quotes too. I would never do that though because it would be mis-leading. There are smart evolutionists who could give good definitions. In the same way there ARE smart creationists who would give reasonable definitions.
So get over you're mis-leading creationist/christian bashing. GROW UP! |
Indeed, if we consider the unblushing promises of reward and the staggering nature of the rewards promised in the Gospels, it would seem that Our Lord finds our desire, not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are far too easily pleased.-- C.S. Lewis |

C88, this is the humor folder. If your offedned, don't read. It's kinda like Eddie Murphy and Richard Prior, if FUCK offends you, then don't listen to those guys.
Same applies here, if us making fun of the rediculous claims made by morons offends you, don't read it.

quote: Biology: The study of life through the light of the Bible.
Hmmm. I don't recall much text about biology in the Bible beyond the Songs of Soloman and the hypnotically dull 'begat' series (if you haven't read the begats, don't. They will make your brain soggy).
Oops, wait a minute! I forgot talking snakes and people evolving into salt. Perhaps there's more?

Funny satire, that cretin dictionary - it got me going for a minute. Did you check the rest of the site out??? |

Yeah I looked around. Some interesting stuff, a lot of topics already seen here. All in all I like SFN quite a bit more.
But if you liked the glossary, you'll probably like their Quotes from Creationists:
http://groups.msn.com/EvolutionVCreation/quotesfromcreationists.msnw
quote: Hovind, Kent: "If Evolution is true, there is no Creator, so laws come from mans opinion. That is called a democracy, which is a terrible form of government. Democracies always degenerate into dictatorships. In America, it is sad to say, has become a democracy. "
Plenty more where that came from. |

Speaking for everyone: thanks.
I'm hoping it's the wider appeal that wins your approval. Overall, we're trying to promote critical thought in all areas, and not focusing on just the creation/evolution conflict. |

I hadn't gone through it -- usually, I do. Not bad at all. Much of the Hovind nonsense is everywhere on the web.
I think that Kent missed his calling. He would have made a great stand-up comic.

Hovind thinks himself smarter than Einstein? Wtf? I mean, really. I knew the man was insane, but those quotes removed any doubt... he's like, ridiculously silly. |

Yes, the range of forums / topics means one can usually find something to catch one's interest. But what I think distinguishes SFN is the depth of discussions. And we seem to attract some interesting visitors!
And thanks to you and the rest of the staff. Keep up the good work! |
