...., but this seems a bit much!

A 13-year old Virginia Beach boy is being held at the Virginia Beach Detention Center after police say he abducted an exotic dancer last Tuesday night.

According to officials, the dancer showed up at a pre-arranged appointment at a residence - subsequently discovered to be vacant - in the 700 block of South Rosemont Road around 6:30pm.

I too, had an almost permenant hard-on at age 13, but never thought to put the snatch on a stripper. And certainly not at gunpoint, not even in fantasy.

It would be interesting to know the kid's and his parent's background. What tempted him to do this and where the hell did he get the rifle (it's described as an assault rifle, but I'd have to see the piece before I'll buy it. Most reporters seem to know squat about firearms)? Somebody's ass ought to be in a sling just for that.

A lot of people seems to know squat about firearms... How about this darwin award? Even my girlfriend know the difference between a pistol and a revolver. (The name kind of give it away)

In Sweden we have very strict gun control laws, and though this will probably mean that I can't inherit my father's guns when he dies, I think the benefit is much greater than the detriment.

Not may Swedes know this, but just a few years ago the gun laws in Sweden was actually quite liberal compared to most countries.
If you hunted, competed, collected, traded and/or were a military employe you could have a large number of guns of various types.

I met two guys like this, they had several assault rifles, SMG's and handguns. (One of the guys even had a hunting permit for a M-16. When I met him you were not able to get that any more.) All of their privately owned weapons were semi-auto versions, but they also had their full auto military weapon.

This was more than 10 years ago. I've heard that the laws should be more strict nowadays, but I can't really say how the rules work today.

It's a lot more strict now.

In order to get a weapon license you need to show that you need it. Landowners can't hunt on their own land without being licensed. My dad is a reserve military, and as such, he has license, but for military weapons and for competition. Since I'm not physically fit for military service anymore, my only chance of getting a license is by joining a sport shooting club. I won't get it just by joining, but I have to practice for a while to show that I can handle it safely, and to show that I'm not joining the club just to obtain the license to have a gun.

Inheriting firearms is no longer a reason to be granted license, which means that if I can't get a licensed buyer for the guns quickly, I'd have to turn them in to the police for destruction.
