I'm trying this link thing to see if I can get it to shorten some of the over-long URLs.

I entirely agree that if someone wants one of these cannonballs and has the where-with-all to pay for it, then he/she should have it. But somehow, it seems to be pandering to gluttony. I really can't say if my objection to the Monster Burger is that or the obvious health reasons.
But then, I'm from an earlier generation and still have a few rather puritan instincts. Just because it looks good doesn't mean I have to have it. Also, my metabolism has slowed down and I can't use all that food.
I almost never eat at the fast food pits because I consider most of them to be all but downright poisonious. If I'm on the road and feel like I'm about to starve, an exception will be made. But I would never consider this beast of a burger.
Over-consumption. I've read that the later Romans practiced it a lot, at least the wealthier ones did. Could that be some sort of a harbinger?
