For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places, EPH 6:12.

The fact that you need an imaginary friend to give your life meaning is irrelevant to the discussion of the science of biology, geology, astronomy, cosmology, etc. Those of us who are atheists have simply found other methods of giving our lives purpose. Of course, such methods are Earthly (like trying to give our kids a better world in which to live than we had), and so you may dismiss them as spiritually vacant, but until I'm given evidence of the existence of Heaven, I must - out of a pragmatic view of life - assume it does not exist. |

Really, why don't you explain to us how the only real Christians are those who believe in a literal six-day Creation 6,000 years ago? Please explain this.
The Word says that God created the earth in 6 days. It also says He has so much power that He can speak things into existance. It's much simpler than believing in life forms we cannot observe changing form. As if a non living, non thinking, non breathing, and non existing, mother nature has this much imagination.
Changes happen slowly. Changes never happened my friends and I can say that as A Fact!!! In fact I would say the same thing in court. If you told me to denounce my faith in Christ and go free or spend my earthly life in prison, I'd choose prison. And I'm nothing like Peter, God gave Peter great authority.
In the written word Peter was given authority and was maybe the first one awarded eternal life before death. Jesus could forgive his sins and he no longer had to sacrife a spotless lamb for his transgressions. For Jesus had been the lamb slain for the sins of every man. So now all you need to do is ask the Son to be forgiven I'm sure with God the Fathers direction.
17: And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
18: And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Imaginary friend? With all you glaring evidence supporting your "theory" my bible should have been buried long ago. Surely with as many men that have tryed to burn it out of existance you would think it wouldn't be able to stand. Oh but maybe, my imaginary friend, with all His authority, power, leader of this universe was able to preserve His testament to man. So your "Book of Darwin" Wouldn't have all four legs to stand on!!! Even in a sinful planet, "God the Fathers will is Done." In Heaven as it is in earth. |

I think this classifies as an appeal to popularity. Just because many people believe does not make it true.

Verlch, I would not take your faith away from you even if I could, and that goes for anyone's faith be it mainstream and high-dollar or the humble worship of Exalted, Leperous Armadillo. It's all the same to me, and as I've stated before; I am not an evangelical atheist.
Erm, what exactly is a "Real Christian(tm)," anyway? There are a bewildering number of sects and demominations, they seem to rarely be in complete agreement, and all claim the infallibility of their version of Scripture. All very confusing to an innocent infidel such as I.
Kinda fun to poke at the inconsistancies and the beliefs in the face of facts, though.
