No, no, I wasn't encouraging Ishtar! That was sarcastic teasing on my part. Ishtar's supposedly one of the worst movies of all time. I haven't seen it...really, I don't think *anybody* has actually seen it. Even the people in the editing room cringed and edited it through squinted eyes.
IMnotreallyHO, a parody of Kung Fu movies is redundant. I mean, Kung Fu movies are already parodies of themselves. They're what I call "one-note" movies: the entire movie is essentially one, er, point: e.g.: disaster movies (note = "nature is scary"), cutesypoo cartoon movies (note = "life is giggly"), teen boobie movies (note = "wow, Babe-du-jour has nice boobies").
I think Hollywood has stopped making new movies and is now making the same movie over and over. Which in the case of Kevin Costner movies, is OK...I just wish he'd get naked in one. |

Well, there are only seven plots, according to my high school English teacher. |

'Tis true. And I once read a Stephen King interview where he said that in the horrer genre, there were only some three: Vampire/Werewolf, Zombie, and Freak of Nature, if memory serves. All of the horror stories are simply variations on these themes.

Well, in all fairness, those kind of movies have two notes.
