Let's see now, how should I intervene with myself?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Given all the teen angst I've just discovered (which apparently has built up over the last 20 years, without me knowing it), I'm far too disrespectful of myself as an authority figure for any sort of intervention to work. I'm a lost cause. I think it's a real shame I didn't see this potential for Satanism in myself earlier, when I might have had a fighting chance to correct myself.

Maybe a little mutual intervention might work.

BAD DAVE! BAD BAD BAD DAVE!! NOW YOU PUT DOWN THE COUNT CHOCULA AND STOP THAT RIGHT NOW BEFORE YOU GET SMOTE BY THE BIG COSMIC GOTHWHACKER!

There, that ought to to do it. Your turn.

A couple of thoughts:

1. "Curing" a teen of thier own behavior: When I was in 8th or 9th grade, my all girls' catholic school accepted a pupil who'd be convicted of arson three times already [she was 12]. The nuns assured her parents that their form of discipliine was just the thing to "straighten her out." After 3 weeks of attendance, she set fire to the school.

2. A few years ago, a precinct in Portland, Oregon was handing out flyers warning about satanism, and depicting symbols associated with satanism that should alert citizens to the danger. One was the split-fingered Vulcan salute from Star Trek. I kid you not.

You do remember this, don't you?

Hook 'em horns from his alma mater that was taken as a devil symbol. The first time I saw it I was sure it was photo shopped. The 'twins' and Laura flash the symbol everywhere as well.

Well then its eternal damnation for both of us then. Pass the mascara.
