These Conservatives are going to set medical research in this country back 20 years. It really hurts me deeply to have to witness what these people have/are doing to my country, I was extremely proud to be an american citizen, my family has shed buckets of blood for what it stood for.
Now, torture, unwarranted invasions, dimishing civil liberties, rejection of science, skewing the tax system to favor the wealthy even more so, attempting to undo FDR's 'New Deal social security,' while at the same time allowing companies to abandon their own pension plan's obligations, attempts to repeal a woman's right of choice, governing behind closed doors, attacking the separation of church and state, this is a blatant attempt to dismantle the country I know, or thought I did.
A pretense of concern for debts the social security system may run up in twenty or thirty years, or for the costs of a real health care system, or an 'up-to-date' education system, while running up record sized deficits now in real time!
I can't believe what is happening, or has happened, here, and how easily the press and our people have accepted it. It just makes me sick, it is a sad time for any, who believe in freedom and liberty.
At least there's SFN to let off a little pressure now and again... |

You live in a country where 22% of the people believe, with certainty, that jesus is comming to rapture them up to heaven within their lifetime. Another 22% believe it will happen, just not sure of the timeframe.
44% of the population of the US believes the rapture will happen.
The problem is not that 44% of people believe this shit (allthough it is a problem), the real problem is that the 44% who believe it make up the majority of VOTERS in the US.
