Probably not, but this lends a tiny ray of hope that another sanctimonious grifter might go down a'la Jim Bakker.

IRS investigating televangelist's operation, report says
Associated Press

DALLAS — The Internal Revenue Service is looking into the operations and finances of televangelist Benny Hinn's organization, according to a published report.

The IRS wouldn't discuss the case, but a representative for Benny Hinn Ministries confirmed to The Dallas Morning News that the inquiry is under way, characterizing it as routine.

Critics have argued that Hinn improperly profits from a ministry that hasn't met the IRS definition of a church for years. The ministry is estimated to raise more than $100 million a year.

Hinn is long overdue. Of all of the human vultures that prey upon the weak and helpless, he is among the worst. I really think that I'd like to see him convicted and locked down almost as much as I'd like to see Rove clobbered. And I really want to see Rove get it in the neck!

Please let be! Then get Edwards

Edwards (if you are referring to the highly skilled cold reader, John Edwards) is much smarter than the likes of Hinn... I'm sure his finances are in ship-shape order. Besides, he has never officially declared his operation as anything other than entertainment, whatever impression he may give in his live acts. The SciFi show always had the "entertainment" disclaimer, anyway.

filthy...After I read your post, I leaned back in my chair and let my mind wander. A picture of Hinn ran throuh my mind. He'd exchanged his white suit for orange coveralls. He held bed clothes in his arms. He walked through the doorway into a small, dirty room in Huntsville Correctional and got his first glimps of Bubba, his room mate for the next few years. Benny's eyes opened wide and his jaw dropped. It was as if the true weight of his situation had finally dawned on him.

Bubba put one big, hairy mit on Benny's shoulder, looked down on the little man, and smiled lustily....

Uh, sorry...It was just a thought...

Wouldn't it be grand if "Bubba" was Karl's nickname? We would have a twofer...

I think that it is going to be very difficult pin anything financial on this stool sample in a Nehru suit. Unlike Bakker, who was a little more than a fool, he has a virtual mafia of accountants to keep track of the profits, and keep him out of trouble. But maybe....

What I would love to see him exposed and busted for is his scam. Merely nail him Capone style and the believers will whine forever about how unfair the guv'ment is and: "Oh, pore Benny! Ain't it an awful thing, to crucify such a man o' Gawd!" No, I'd prefer him officially exposed in the noonday sun for all to see, and then locked up with Bubba/Karl.

Don't know if that can be done either, so I'll settle for whatever I can get.
