OK, there's been a lot of tension on this board lately (most of it caused by me, I know, since I don't march to the proper beat), but I couldn't resist this bizarre story (some of you have probably seen it today) and the link to it as a way to relieve the tension. This is truly theatre of the absurd:

Apparently, the bin Laden poster makers in the back alleys of Quetta or wherever the hell they are know how to use Google but have no clue what they've pulled down from the images to paste on their tributes to Mr. Megalomaniac. In the Wired link, click on the thumbnails or go into the article and link up with the Swedish tabloid and check out Bert and bin and bin with his "Jack Daniels" (although it looks more like Johnny Walker Red to me).
I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it.

Actually I think Nostrodamus predicted this. Consider Quatrain 42 from Century 21:
When the high towers have fallen in the great city of light, the puppet shall meet the bearded one and the end time will be at hand.
OK. So maybe I made that up just a little. But if Nostrodamus didn't predict that one, he dang sure should have.

Seems to me the bin Laden network has made a fatal mistake. I mean, dealing with the U.S. military is going to seem like, er, Sesame Street once they get a load of the lawyers from Children's Television Workshop...

Didn't Saddam have a campaign in which he transmitted to U.S. troops that their wives were back at home having sex with Bart Simpson?
This reminded me of that, for some reason...

That was a Johnny Carson routine. And it was Homer.
However, recent releases of formerly classified documents reveals that Dan Quayle actually was having sex with Bart Simpson at the time. Eat my shorts Mr. Vice President!

What an incredible opportunity for Internet mischief. Since Disney studios are always blamed for subliminal messages in their animated cartoons, how about contracting them to make a beautiful portrait of Osama with obscene anti-Osama curses woven into a tapestry of clouds surrounding his head.
Let's see who's stupid enough to bite.
