Pat is at it again. Jesus wants us to kill the Venezuelan president, Hugo Chávezthe so the flow of oil will continue, doncha know! Praise the lord and pass the sniper rifle.

"If he thinks we're trying to assassinate him, I think that we really ought to go ahead and do it," Mr. Robertson said Monday on his show, "The 700 Club." "It's a whole lot cheaper than starting a war. And I don't think any oil shipments will stop."

As much as I loath the foul Patriot Act, isn't there some way this unctious son-of-a-bitch can be proscecuted under it?

From the Chicago Tribune:

quote:
Give the wacky Rev. Pat Robertson this much: When it comes to death wishes, he doesn't necessarily discriminate between friend and foe.

In a televised interview in 2003, Robertson suggested nuking the U.S. State Department as punishment for its errant foreign policies. As we say in Chicago, make no little plans.

Robertson had lobbed rhetorical grenades at State before that. "Maybe we need a very small nuke thrown off on Foggy Bottom to shake things up like [former U.S. House Speaker] Newt Gingrich wants to do," he once said.

Also in 2003, Robertson exhorted his viewers to pray for the resignation of three U.S. Supreme Court justices--he didn't name names, but specified that they be an 83-year-old, one with cancer and another with a heart ailment.

As 2005 dawned and Robertson's prayers hadn't been answered, he might have grown frustrated. He wasn't. He announced early this year that God had told him: "I will remove judges from the Supreme Court quickly. ..."

Now he is saying that he was "misinterpreted" and that he never said to kill Chavez. Now he has broken another Decalogue commandment: "Thou shalt bear false witness" (creationists do this daily but that's another thread...)

Do you think because he holds the mantle that he is right in his heart? He has alot of stock in gasoline companies maybe he was trying to make the price of stock go up and you guys are helping.

Does an evolutionist that believes in God get the same level of slander as this man?

Don't worry being a liberal hedonist is still ok!!! What are humaninsts worried about anyways? Can't other people want to go to heaven and be left alone by a foaming at the mouth liberal hedonist agenda? It is not possible to slander Pat Robertson. He is a mealy-mouthed grifter ripping off everyone he can.

An evolutionist believer, and these probably far out number the atheistic ones, still has the right slant on biological science. Who could object?

Pat Robertson Lukewarm On Forced Abortions
By John Roberts, May 11, 2001

Pat Robertson of the Christian Coalition recently gave a very immoral and unchristian statement on CNN regarding Communist China's forced abortions.

"Well, you know, I don't agree with it, but at the same time, they've got 1.2 billion people and they don't know what to do. If every family over there was allowed to have three or four children, the population would be completely unsustainable. So, I think that right now they're doing what they have to do."

The Chinese government has made it against the law to have more than one child. If women get pregnant with a second child then the communists murder the unborn child by forced abortion.

John's Take

Murder is against God's code of moral conduct. A real Christian condemns abortion for what it is, murder. For Pat Robertson to say that China's millions of forced abortions each year is "...doing what they have to do" shows how far televangelists have strayed from the Word of God.

Pat Robertson, when I heard you deny the Rapture it became clear you were not versed in scripture. Now that I see you condone forced abortion by communist China I think you were half-right about one thing. There will be no Rapture for you unless you repent.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Pat Robertson says anthing our leaders tell him to. He is for population control and all types of other things. I would rank him with Benny Hinn...

So, according to this moron, "real" christians have only existed for something likem 100 years. The idiotic hysteria from the christian right over abortion is no older than that.

And wasn't there a time in the not to distant past where the catholic church had a much different (than currently) stance on the issue?

I doubt verlch thinks highly of catholics. I wonder what the stance on the death penalty is? Or war? I can already imagine the excuses coming, I've heard them all before...

The one child law has had some sad results far beyond abortion. I've read that, due to male children traditionally being considered more valuable than female, infantcide is not uncommon. The Law of Unintended Concequences, eh?

The LoUC follows Robertson around like a hungry gore-crow because he fails to think before running his mouth.

The Law of Unintended Concequences strikes again:
quote:
Venezuela to seek legal action against Robertson
29 Aug 2005 02:34:50 GMT

Source: Reuters

By Matthew Robinson

CARACAS, Venezuela, Aug 28 (Reuters) - Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said on Sunday his government would take legal action against Pat Robertson and potentially seek his extradition after the U.S. evangelist called for Washington to assassinate the South American leader.

Robertson, who later apologized for the remark, said he was expressing his frustration with Chavez's constant accusations against the administration of President George W. Bush.

"I announce that my government is going to take legal action in the United States ... to call for the assassination of a head of state is an act of terrorism." Chavez said in a televised speech.

There are some who'd be happy to hand him over, as it is high time he paid for his corruption. I don't think it'll come to that or even amount to much more than rhetoric, but it'll be fun observing from the sidelines.

I also love how when a christian says something "not nice" other christians say he isn't a "true chrisitian". I thought a true christian is one who beleives in jesus. So Pat is a true chrisitan as much as verlch. Or maybe Pat is a true christian and verlch isn't?

v, I'm beginning to think that you believe we like abortions. Let me enlighten you, my friend: NOBODY likes freakin' abortions! You don't, I don't, nobody. Nothing would make me happier than to read that there were a lot fewer of them.

But how to get fewer, hm? Outlaw them? Been tried, didn't work. The only result was a lot of dead women from botched, illegal procedures, as often as not done by amatures.

How 'bout abstenance only education? Being tried, ain't working. I've read that teen pregnentcy rates remain about the same for these students, as do the rates of VD.

So, as a last resort, why not give students a sound education as to how their body's biological process' work and what they can do to protect themselves? Y'know what; that just might work...

Or does that offend some delicate, fundie sensebilities and give righteous Christians the fainting fantods? Or, hell, maybe it's that it is too easy and makes entirely too much sense....
