I have noticed that I don't get logged out when I log out. I click the "Logout" icon, get the "successfully logged out" message and leave. When I come back every page shows me as logged in and I have all member functions available without having logged in. ????Que Passa Amigo???? (what's happening?)

I've always had that problem. No one else can log on to SFN using my computer. The only way to completely log off is to dump the SFN cookie, which IMO, is a huge pain in the ass. So what if no one else can use my computer? It's my damn computer.

Hmmm, that is very interesting. What version of browser do you use? I had a similar problem until I deleted my cookie once but since then it's been fine. Any details anyone can add would be helpful.
Operating system

PIN number 
It's also possible that you have 2 cookies for SFN so look carefully. Delete them both if there are 2.

Sorry I'm so long getting back to you. I'm one of those poor slobs that has to work for a living. I'm still having the "not logged off" problem. I log off, it says I logged off, I come back and I'm not logged off.
My stats are as follows:
Operating system: Windows 98
Browser type: Netscape 4.51
PIN number ????????? My pin doesn't have a number on it. ;-)

Russ Replies: I have my system set up so it only holds 5 cookies for sites I have to deal with alot, therefore there is no SFN cookie. I checked and still had only the five that are supposed to be there.
This is no big deal, I think it just looks funny if the system says I'm logged in when I anit.

I think your problem stems from having no cookie for SFN. For you to be able to enjoy all of SFN's features, yes this includes logging in/out, you need a cookie.
The engine that SFN runs on(Snitz2000) was designed specifically for Internet Explorer 4+. This doesn't mean that other browsers can't access SFN but it does mean that weird things can happen.

The cookie thing aint the problem. I guess we'll all just have to live with me being logged on whether I'm really logged on or not.

I don't know if this matters or not but I finally got logged out. When I came in just now, I was not logged in already. I actually had to log in.
I don't know if you did something or my accepting your cookie and then deleting it made the difference. I'll see if this stays fixed.

You know I had the same problem, but it's fixed now too. (thank you, @) And has been working just fine. However ever since this stupid Win.98 was put on my machine I can't do a damn thing on the computer. I don't know anything about the cookies now, before I could delete them and go into windows and do all kinds of stuff, now I don't know where anything is. DAMN IT! Win 95 was bad enough but why can't I have my orginal Win. 3.0?

Do yourself a favor and get Windows 2000 or XP. The difference in stability is significant. It doesn't mean you'll never have a problem but I've gone a month without a reboot with Windows 2000 professional. It's not as cheap as Windows 9x but you get what you pay for.

I don't know @, I hear it's much faster. Yikes, things are too fast now. We'll see.
Oh, and I don't have any problems, it's just that I can't go into the files like I used to. Can't find anything or am afraid to mess around in there. I've gotten messages that if I delete something, the computer will explode....or some such message.

Well Now it's back to the same old trick. I'm not logged out and accepting the cookie or not does not seem to make a difference.
Forget it. I'll just live with being logged in all the time.

It's probably a browser related issue then. I still don't know why that should be the case since as far as I know most Netscape users don't have problems. But like I said the code is designed for IE. Do you at least see what posts are new? The second thing the cookie does, after seeing if you are logged on or not, is check when your last visit was so new posts since then can be indicated. Without that working seeing what's new would be a huge hassle.

I really appreciate you responding but I think this has taken more of your time than it's worth. I tried resetting various aspects of my browser to no avail. I think it is time to say "screwitalready" and move on to something important.

OK NOW it's happening to me again.
I'm on Woodys SN, I logged on to SFN to get the personal message and now I can't log off. I don't know how to do anything to the cookies or anything else since putting Win 98 on, Damn It. I must have a cookie for SFN because until now for the past several months, since you @ fixed the previous problem, I've been going on this site, sometimes logging on, usually not but never having a problme.
HELP.... log me off.
I want to be invisible.
