I've had the same problem. Before I went to Texas, I logged off so Megan could use this site. Didn't work. Seems I was "locked in", so she couldn't post under her name/password. Oh shit. I logged onto this site with someone else's computer a couple of hours ago. Does this mean they'll be blocked? Man, they'll be majorly majorly pissed. I guess that goes to show ya, there's an upside to everything Lisa

Hmmmm, I think I might know what it is. I removed the "Remember your password" checkbox and made it remember but hidden. I'll try to fix that tonight.

Thank you. BTW, don't know if this means anything one way or the other but I never used Remember your Password. Hey, so don't mess anything else up.

If you are running Windows NT, it all depends on profiles...if I log in to mine using my name it remebers me...if I log in using the administrator account it doesn't remember as I haven't logged in to SFN using that account.
Meaningless drivel, but I thought someone may be interested.

Thanks for that info, I don't think it applies to my machine though. I never did anything different and because of this damn Windows 98 I can't go into the files anymore so nothing is being disturbed there either.

Right click on Internet explorer icon, go to properties, click on settings in temp internet files and you should be able to find your cookies folder from there....I'm doing this from memery, I'm running 98 at home, but I am at work and we have NT and Internet Explorer for NT is slightly different.
Alternatively search for your cookies folder and delete all the little buggers.

Not only that but there might be 2 cookies for SFN because of the way the code is modified. One is for skepticfriends.org and one is for forum somethingorother.

When I was reading this postoing about a week ago, I tested it by deleting all cookies apart from the SFN.ORG one from the cookies directory, it still remembered my login details

You did not delete the SFN cookie? That would explain why you couldn't log out I think. Try deleting the SFN cookie.

Nah, I did that on purpose to see if that was the only cookie that kept my login details.....
Occasionally more that one cookie will be produced....especially if are you using asp pages and VB scripting.
I should have made myself more clear.

OK, I just put the checkbox back. Let me know how it works out. I still find it funny that I have tested this on win98, win2000 with IE 5, 5.5 and 6 not to mention Netscape and Opera. I am administrator though and that could explain it.

It doesn't(still)! Sorry. I'm still logged on. I feel so naked, everyone knows where I am.
AND ''Right click on Internet explorer icon, '' What's an Internet explorer icon, Gezz? About the cookies, I used to delete them all the time on the other Windows but now when I go to the folder, sometimes when I click on something to delete, it says, deleting will cause a problem in the computer. THAT'S why I hate new and updated programs. I so much want my 3.0 back. It was nice and slow and not all the quick fancy stuff. I hate the way this(machine)works but I like SFN so I have to put up with computers. Damn.
