I was just wondering what people thought of Bush's job and I also wondered how Bush compared to the consevatives 'great satan' Bill Clinton. quote: President Bush's approval rating dropped to 38 percent in the latest Newsweek Poll and to 42 percent in the Time Poll.
quote: In the wake of the House of Representatives' approval of two articles of impeachment, Bill Clinton's approval rating has jumped 10 points to 73 percent, the latest CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll shows.
That's not only an all-time high for Clinton, it also beats the highest approval rating President Ronald Reagan ever had.
Clintons highest approval rating was during his impeachment and this is almost 2X of Bush's current approval rating!? Logic clearly is useless in trying to understand politics.
What a country, huh?

Not really.
Clinton was impeached over a question completely unrelated to the investigation. A personal matter which had no bearing on anyone's life.
Bush is under fire for fucking up when it mattered most. He could reason away needless death to US servicemen in a land far away. He can't reason away needless death to US citizens in the South.
Clinton allowed the Republicans to damage themselves by attacking him on such a petty issue. People figured if this was the worst the Republicans had, it wasn't much. The economy was on a strong footing, domestic issues were minor, the national debt was declining slightly.
Bush has a real issue he fucked up on. The veneer of invincibility is gone, the economy is weak, domestic issues are major, the national debt is growing out of control. Add Darth Cheney and his "vote for the other guy and you'll die" speech, and you've got the trifecta of cluster fucks. |
