I got a rather peculiar e-mail yesterday. This was apparently in response to a message I posted on another board concerning the similarities of fundametalist Islam and fundamentalist Christianity (that'll teach me to be more careful where I post  ).
The e-mail is essentially a creationist screed complete with garbled syntax, bad spelling (you'd think the guy could master a simple spell checker), and the usual creationist illogic. What makes it new (at least to me) is that this Creationist isn't thumping the Bible, he's thumping the Qur'an. Now that's scary! 
I considered sending a reply but decided that it would be a> pointless, and b> potentially dangerous. Here's a sample for your reading pleasure (is that the proper word for that sensation you get when you pick at a scab?  ):

electric energy caused to these letters to write this. We may call it
electronical evolution caused bu random physical rules.
Yes we can witness physical evidence of evolution easily. Everything is
evolving. This is scientific. Sience explains inevedible evidence of
evolution.
You may be aware of the great book of Richard Dawkins " The Blind Watch
Maker ". In this book Prof Dawkins says " Even if you see a statue shaking
her hand to you, do not regard this as a miracle. Very small probablity but
the atoms on the arm of the statue can act and the statue may be seen as if
it is shaking her hand." As we witness here Dawkins is extremely rigth.

Yes as we examine Materialistic Science we find new evidence of evolution.
We can only cope with other dogmas providing that we learn THE FACT OF
EVOLUTION.

The letters could evolve so. Since the DNA in the retina tissuse could be
written by chences, it is much more possible for these Letters to occure by
electrical mutations.

Someone must be pulling our e-mail addresses off the boards. I got the same e-mail. I've gotten some bible-thumping ones too. After several from the same address, I replied:
"I don't know where you obtained my address, but I do not agree with your philosophy. Any discussion between us would be pointless. Please remove my address from your e-mail lists"
Believe it or not, never heard from them again.

Ugh, how tragic to be that individual.
When I implement new forum code it will allow anyone to hide their email address if desired.

Gee, I got the same email too. I was wondering if they were pulling the email from here.
Oh well.
Go to: www.thewaronfaith.com and look at the hell mail - there is one that is from the same individual that I received a couple weeks ago, (tho, he's had it much longer on his site - I just recognized it).

That would be a nice, but I doubt it will help very much. I think most of us here are on more than one board.
I think I showed remarkable restraint with my reply to the fundie spam mail. I mean, a mail that says I and "my kind" need to believe in god, the bible, we all have loose morals, our beliefs are wrong...sheesh!
If I'd been a little crankier that day, it probably would have read:
"Thank you for your timely letter. Did I say timely? What an understatement! It saved me from making one of those little social faux pas that do nothing except leave all parties embarassed. As the Regional Director for the Atheist Ladies with Huge Knockers, I was just on my way to your house, and....."

I got the same email. I figure it must be someone lurking at this board because it is the only one on which I post and the only registration that uses my ISP email rather than my Yahoo mail account.

Almost too tempting for words. Actually, I did have a snide and highly insulting reply typed out, and then my evil twin came in and sent out the "do not bother me" one.
If I receive another one, or happened to save the last one, I'll open up a new folder: "annoying fundie e-mails". If nothing else, its good for a laugh.

hehe I got that one too. Strangest email I've ever received.
There was no address in the TO: field, however. It was blank.

Okay so you're on two of the forums. I'm on three of them. Someone can get our e-mail addresses. I guess its no different than the rest of the spam I get. Hello delete button. I guess I just don't understand why these people feel the need to send the stuff to me in the first place

Could someone bring up to speed, please? Does the Qur'an have the same kind of Doom-and-Gloom-but-here-comes-Allah type of curtain call that Revelation has in the Bible? I thought that the Apostle John had the exclusive scoop on the End Times. Well, at least you would have thought so listening to his press agent.
