After weeks of prodding by Republican lawmakers and the American Red Cross, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) said yesterday that it will use taxpayer money to reimburse churches and other religious organizations that have opened their doors to provide shelter, food and supplies to survivors of hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
Any church that requests or accepts these funds should immediately lose its tax exempt status. Members of these churches should be aware they will be recognized as supporting a conspiracy to steal money from the citizens of the US. It shouldn't be surprising that more and more of the churchgoers of this nation are becoming the subject of ridicule and derision. To those who support this type of theft, you might want to start saving up. We may eventually come looking to get our money back, and we might not be very friendly about taking it.
