Bush's popularity is currently hovering around the 40% mark, give or take, and some say that's good news for liberals. But...

But forty percent is a hell of a lot of people, even discounting the ultra-loyalist boneheads who would follow him off a cliff. This thought was in the back of my mind when I came across this:

For some dumb reason, I can't get a cut & paste, so, I will only state that the link is worth opening.

It provides nothing that we don't already know, but it puts in an order of sorts. The questions proposed should be posted all over the web, especally on conservative sites. There's an outside chance that they might provoke some thought.

Thanks for the link, filthy. It seems as likely to spawn more excuses, accusations of the liberals' dishonesty, and simple raw apologetics as to sway many people's way of thinking about the issues. We can hope this sort of thought inspiring essay will land on the computer screens of at least some of the on-the-fence crowd and get them to step off onto the side of peace and progress. From filthy's link...

Questions For Those Still Approving of Bush...

1. Do you understand that no tangible, truthful reason has ever been given for the invasion of Iraq and that the 9/11 Commission Report -- which is the de facto, official findings of our government -- says there was no reason whatsoever for this war?
It is a puzzlement. The faithful are under the spell of some of the most effective propaganda peddlers since Hitler took so many weak minded, gullible, naive, and mentally ill, and turned them loose on the peaceful decent people of Europe and the world.

One of the most effective tools the fear-and-hate mongers have at their disposal is the ever dwindling quality of education in the United States. While it can be argued that discarding quality education is not a ploy used intentionally by the political elite to maintain control over the masses, it sure can't hurt their cause. Keep people stupid, fearful, and hateful, and you can get them to believe anything. We know how well it works for at least some segments of Christianity, and we can see how well it works for the US Government.

Grandfather Education Report...

[...] in February 2005 to read that China produced 4 times more BS engineering degrees than the U.S., and Japan twice as many. Nobel Prize-winning scientist R.E.Smalley of Rice University reported "by 2010, 90% of all Ph.D. physical scientists and engineers in the world will be Asian living in Asia." The International Math & Science Study reported U.S. 12th graders were out-performed by 90% of other nations in math and 76% in science. In advanced math the US was out performed by 94% and in science by 100% of other nations. The American Association for the Advancement of Science reported 90% of math books and 100% of science text books are unacceptable. Additionally, the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) reported 85% of 12th grade students were not proficient in math and science. (Imprimis, Feb. 2005, page 2)
EDIT: Oh, sorry, I didn't mean to hijack the thread. My comments about education were just to point out one of the possible reasons why so many are so apt to be in the dark and willing to stay there. Now with no further ado, we bring you back to the original subject of the thread, Questions For Those Still Approving of Bush. Carry on.

My Bush voting neighbor seems to be avoiding me ever since I asked her how she felt about her vote now or I'd give her a copy.
