So, Bigbrain says he doesn't believe anything he can't see. Then he asks for photos of stuff on the ground as if it would be proof that man-made satellites exist. Of course, this isn't true, since satellite photos of stuff on the ground won't be photographs of satellites moving through the sky, so there's no hope of distinguishing satellite photos (of high resolution) from imagery taken from airplanes or helicopters. The "test" he proposes is just a bunch of craps.
Beyond that, the question posed to Bigbrain is not "what would make you believe man-made satellites exist," but is instead, "do man-made satellites orbit Earth right now?" This is a yes-or-no question about what Bigbrain thinks of as current reality, and he's unwilling to answer it. He turns the tables, instead, and demands evidence, which isn't an answer to this very simple question.
filthy, your attempts to inject something of worth into this (and the other BB) threads has been much appreciated, but you know you're free to start an elasmobranch thread or whatever else might cream your twinkie, anytime you like. It'll still be appreciated, and probably easier to read than this mess.
I say this by way of introducing an ultimatum. Bigbrain, either answer the question as it is written (namely, "are there man-made satellites in orbit around the Earth right now?") with a yes-or-no answer within the next three posts you make, or I'll lock this thread. If you then start another thread on the same subject(s), more serious measures will be taken. There's been enough time and energy spent on this nonsense. It takes away from time I could spend doing my other duties around here. Because I manage here. |

By the way, from what I can tell, were Bigbrain to go to Heavens-Above, he might find that on Christmas Eve evening, he might be able to spot 10 different satellites and about 17 different rocket bodies from his location in Italy, as they fly across the sky. All 27 orbiting objects go by in about 2.5 hours, starting at 17:09. One every six minutes (on average), a very busy night! (If he cares to look.) |

I am managing the game, not you.
I do what I want in my thread. If you don't like this, don't read my opinions, little guy.
You seem to be under the delusion that you have absolute fiat over threads you start.
You don't.
You are not the sysop, administrator, or even a moderator. As such, you have no authority to dictate what the original post means. That you willfully abandon it because you are having your head handed to you on a regular basis on this whole question of man made satelites is indicative of your inherently anorexialy weak position.
Heck, even AS sysops, administrators, and moderators, we can only insist that people return to the topic of the OP. Expecting to control how a discussion thread plays out is sort of like nailing jello to a wall. However, the tactic you are using shows you to be a coward. One who probably realizes they are spouting nonsense. |
