I'm watching the game with the sound turned off in favor of Thistle and Shamrock on Public Radio, so, as I'm not paying close attention, I'm not entirely sure that this is the stupidest, but damn, it's gotta be close!

Neandertal (presumably) is given a package by prehistoric employer to deliver. Pterodactyl(!) steals package from delivery guy. Tyrannosaur(!) scarfs up pterodatcyl, package and all. Delivery guy returns to boss confessing failure to complete assigned task. Gets fired in spite of feeble excuse: "FedEx hasen't been invented yet!" Leaves cave, kicking small, inoffensive theropod dinosaur(!) out of his way in fit of temper.

Yeesh! But the special effects were pretty good......

Thistle and Shamrock! - filthy, you just get cooler and cooler.

See, that commercial would just be funny if there weren't so many Americans who actually believe dinosaurs and humans coexisted.

Thistle and Shamrock, what is that? Besides a radio show, I mean what's it about?

Here's the deal! I used to love to watch commericals as I did also like to go to the picture show but since the quality of Everything has gone down over the years it's not enjoyable anymore to do either. They are actually parallel. Those wonderful car commericals with the cars racing down a country road, the music, it was great. Now it's all pots and pans noise in the back ground with no good photography or story line either. Just like they can't make good movies now, they are all remakes. And we all know most are never done as well as the orginal.
I blame the education system for turning out a next generation that can't think for itself among other bad qualities. All that emotional, you are as good as anyone else, no child left behind crap. That's what we get for it. So, don't sit and watch that nonsense. Don't just post to a website that can't do any good. Write to those who matter and tell them you want higher standards.

Indeed. Bullshit will ever triumph.

Yeh, I never miss Thistle & Shamrock if I can help it. I've been listening to it for so long that it's an ingrained habit and if anything's good on the toob during it, I'm gonna have to tape it or miss it.

Hell, I've had about a half a crush on Fiona for years.

'Tis music, mainly of Scots and Irish derivation. Much more pleasant than the crap we are bombarded with these days, and I am watching the game without having to listen to some over-paid motormouth. It comes on at 7 EST and goes on for an hour, to be followed by Back Porch Music -- more excellent music, although in recent years, I think it's lost a little of it's edge.

Tune it in and enjoy!

Aye. Fiona Ritchie, the host of Thistle & Shamrock, is probably too nice and cute a Scottish lassie to make your notorious photo gallery, so here's a picture of her just for fun.

How cool! Glad I asked. Although I have records and CDs of such music, couldn't hurt to listen to more.
If I can find the station I'll try to catch the show.
I listen to the local classical music station, they play that music too but of course not a whole program of it.

Here's the T&S's website so you can figure out where and where it plays near you. Sadly, not podcasts of old shows. http://www.npr.org/programs/thistle/

Much appreciate you posting that website but unfortunately the closest city to me is Santa Barbara (oddly enough that's where my son is!) on that site and I'm pretty sure the signal won't pick up here.
We'll try but thanks anyway.
Don't know what a podcast is so I guess that would be out anyway, haha.
