Hi! I'm new to the forums here. I have been active at Skepticality.com, however, under the same username.
Quick, tell me the best threads in history (by your opinion) so I can aquaint myself!

Welcome to SFN Aerik. I suggest you just take a look around. What interests me may not be of much interest to you... Have fun! |
Uncertainty may make you uncomfortable. Certainty makes you ridiculous.
Why not question something for a change?

Hello Aerik!
Welcome to SFN. If you tell us your favourite pet peeve, I'm sure we can find some interesting threads for you to read. We have some pet fundies writing here in different subjects, so take your pick, name your subject...

How often to people check a Sticky that's 6+ pages long?
* I'm not going to call it my "favorite pet peeve" because, for one, it is an oxymoron; hell, the addition of "pet" to modify an annoyance into something you enjoy being annoyed by annoys me; and that is one of my peeves. My biggest peeve would be language such as that little gem. Ugh.
However, my biggest peeve as a skeptic would definitely have to be when atheists and secularists do unneccessary kowtowing to a religious group for whatever odd reason. On my blog, I ranted about this peeve generally, and then berated Ed Brayton twice when he said he "respected the fact that" the Catholic Charities group in Boston decided to stop helping children get adopted altogether rather than be forced to deal with - *gasp!* - gay parent candidates. The fact that they brashly quit when a law forced them to confront a taboo ^or else^ tells us that they were not ever considering gay candidates for adoption ever, so their decision to quite being a state-appointed charity should cause a "Well FINALLY!" reaction, not a "Well I respect your restraint," BS reaction. |

I too recommend the skeptic summaries. They're great. |
