I agree with Valiant that a treason conviction would have been easy. The reason for not pursuing it did not occur to me, but I can see it, I can believe it, and it still scares me, but none of the people I talk to face-to-face see it that way.

My kids still love me.

Valiant - that is a frightening concept.

Tim, there is a precedence for people who act criminally without being aware of the crime first - but once you are, then you are cupable.

Does this mean we hope some judge overturns the Patriot Act as unconstitutional and lets Mr. Walker go? Ugly choice.

It is by the goodness of God that in our country we have those three unspeakably precious things: freedom of speech, freedom of conscience, and the prudence never to practice either of them. -Mark Twain

I think we hope some judge throws out the "Patriot Act", Walker goes straight into prosecution for treason. He's only off the hook for Aiding terrorism. Treason is a completely seperate charge. It's not made any more difficult by Walker's freedom as he would be freed due to the act being overturned instead of being aquitted.

Ooooooo. Ashcroft makes me soooooo mad. I could just pinch him.
