Just THIS In...again and again...from CNN...

President Bush urges Syria to rein in Hezbollah

Orwellingly Yurz sez:

I don't support the Arabs, Muslims, Palestinians, Iraqi insurgency, Iran, Hezbollah, Hamas or any of these people. What the terrorists and "freedom fighters" do in their blowing up of people and stuff is heinous. But I also don't support the over reactive terrorism employed by Israel and G. War's pouring more fuel on a widening fire.

He's a freakin' idiot and, before it's all over, will be responsible for millions of people dying; just like the Nazis were for the deaths of so many Jews and "outcasts" in Europe.

And whom do we have to thank for all this? SCOTUS! 'Tis a sad moment in American history. The experiment, at this moment, looks to be failing, I fear.

Time to reiterate a prescient quote:

"As democracy is perfected, the office of the president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron."

---H. L. Mencken (1880 - 1956) ..... a real journalist.

Orwellingly,

I sympathize with your distain of George Bush and understand the gist of what you're saying but I'm confused by a couple of references. I googled "Scotus" and only found a reference to a Scottish Franciscan friar who disagreed with the "doctrines of Aquinas". Also, is "G. War" a reference to Bush describing himself as "the war president" or does it stand for "global war" or something else?

Diversity, independence, innovation and imagination are progressive concepts ultimately alien to the conservative mind.

Hi, Chippewa:

SCOTUS means Supreme Court of the United States. It's a short-cut term used in the news biz and some newspapers. It's seldom used in broadcast.

G. War is my own "sweet" way of identifying George War Bush. Seems the "W" is best represented by that word. Walker doesn't seem to encompass this guy's folly.

He should really should be referred to as Junior.

All the Best.

One more thing, Chippewa: I notice you're into classical music. I do classical music for a living on the radio. No scary news stories, except for the occasional NPR item at the top of the hour.

Mostly just good Classical, Romantic, Baroque and reasonably tonal 20th century.

SCOTUS = Supreme Court of the United States. I'm not sure what G War is but I assume it is a reference to our alledged leader, may he again choke on junk food.

Hmm, see I ran a little late on that one....

There are quite a few classical music lovers here, including myself. Here in NC, we have an excellent classical station. At the moment though, I am listening to Back Porch Music on NPR. I like a little of everything.

No one pays much attention to the fact the Israelis have so trashed the Palestinians they have few jobs, no economic prospects, no resources etc. How can the Israelis possibly expect the Palestinians to give up? They have absolutely nothing more to lose.

I understand all the whining, "They are shooting rockets at us and sending suicide bombers". But the Israelis have never allowed the Palestinians any hope. What would be the response if the tables were reversed?

My brother dated a Palestinian woman for quite a while. Her family came here in the 60s after the Israelis just came one day and took their house and land, claiming they needed a buffer zone. At the time they actually offered compensation. A whopping penny for every dollar of value. At the same time, for any Jewish home taken for some military need or road or whatever, the owner was compensated at value.

You reap what you sow. And what someone else sows in this case.
