Yo:

As I read yet another headline about American citizens still stranded in Lebanon, with some reports they're having to pay for being extracated from the bomb zone, I thought that the only thing we need now is for Bush to tell someone over there that they're "doing a heck of a job." He's handling himself, again, much like he did during Katrina: sort of like a farmhand in the silo looking for a corner in which to defecate.

What's truly amazing about Bush is that he really never fails to fail. We can always count on him to fuck things up, whatever they might be. Everything he touches turns to...uh, you know(?) that word he said in conversation with Tony Blair yesterday.

The Blair live-microphone snafu and Bush's going on and on in a news conference about eating pig at a big dinner provide material for the worst of stand-up comics to be very entertaining.

I've seen photos, already, of Russian citizens being escorted from bombs zones in Lebanon by their government; and from what I can tell, they aren't going to be billed for it.

But the most interesting wrinkle in this lastest problem brought on by Bush's Mid East Follies, is that the US government is contracting commercial oceanliners to get Americans away from the bomb zones.

I didn't know Halliburton had gotten into the shipping biz.

OY.

The microphone incident at the G8 conference is even worse on video, Bush is chewing with his mouth open while he's talking.

The Democrats in Congress are making effective political hay, comparing the slow Lebanon evacuation to the cluster-fuck Katrina response. They are especially objecting to the fact that the US government is actually planning to bill the US refugees for the service. This, as European nations have been swift and efficient in evacuating their citizens from Lebanon.

Yo, Half Moon Man, and I mean no disrespect: I just heard on NPR that Pelosi has just come out complaining about charging Americans who need to be evacuted. If this isn't tantamount to the Katrina Crisis, I don't know what is.

Another couple of interesting things, of late: Gonzales indicating, in public, that Bush shitcanned the Justice Department's investigation into phone surveillance...and, as I just heard, Condi saying she would go to the OTHER troubled area to try to stop the hostilities.

Those two items, for me, suggest that what we have here are two very high-up Bushits attempting to slither, just a little, off the political hook they've been on for a long time with the mad man who is, allegedly, the leader of the free world.

Sounds like Condi, is saying (in her thought bubble) "Mr. President, I'm awaiting your order to go to the war torn region. Just give me the green light."

And G. War is saying, "Well, Condi, honey, hee, hee: I'll think about it just as soon as I git through givin' the Chancellor of Germany a public shoulder rub to show everyone that I could be havin' a thing with her, too.

I tell you, this asshole is beyond believe! Someone next to Bush needs to fall on their "sword" to save all of our asses. That person would be a fine American, indeed; but they wouldn't win the Medal of Freedom for doing so, like George Tenet did.

I think you misunderstood me. I mentioned the Congressional Demos making "effective political hay" but I happen to agree with 'em. It's a legitimate political issue, and a Katrina comparison is apt.

HalfMooner: No, I didn't misunderstand you. I was just corroborating what you said about the Dems making political hay, and added that there looks to be slight slippage with a couple of the Bushits by speculating on the meaning of what they've recently said, that's all.

I think we're looking at the same page.

Yo!

Wink, wink to you too, Halfmooner. It's 105 in Sacramento now. I bet it's a bit cooler on Half Moon Bay, eh?

I'm envious.

It's very hot and sunny here now. It's 70 F., and it was even hotter earlier today, 76 F.

This photo from the Esseily family trapped in Lebanon, clipped from CNN, says it all:
