Still one nation under God

From above article:

quote:
Unbelief is rocketing, up from 8% in 1990 to 14% saying they have no religion or they're atheist, agnostic, humanist or secular.

quote:
Families embrace many faiths: 22% say their spouse or domestic partner has a different religion, ranging from Episcopalians (42% are in mixed households) to Mormons (12%). Among these couples, the majority say they will pick one of the parent's faith for their children, but 13% say they will rear their children with no religion or as atheists, says study director Ariela Keysar.

They're still at it, even over the census...

quote:
The touchiest issue may be the tallies of Muslims and Jews, who each claim they were undercounted while the other was overcounted.

"Necessity may be the mother of invention, but laziness is usually the father." -Bailey's First Law

I think they pointed out that they did change some of the questions and they think that is in part responsible for the increase in those who don't hold a particular god belief. Because the atheist question was do you believe god exists.

It is by the goodness of God that in our country we have those three unspeakably precious things: freedom of speech, freedom of conscience, and the prudence never to practice either of them. -Mark Twain
