YO: The "Reverend" Pat Robertson is reported to now be a convert to the facts of global warming. The Lord God, obviously, has stopped talkin' trash to Dr. Pat, doncha think?

Here's more good news.....

Paramount Classics To Donate An Unprecedented
One Million Dollars To Fight Global Warming

Los Angeles, CA (August 3, 2006) -- Paramount Classics announced today that “An Inconvenient Truth” has grossed over $20 million dollars, making it the #4 highest grossing documentary of all time. As part of the campaign to encourage audiences to see “An Inconvenient Truth,” Classics made an unprecedented pledge of 5% of all box office receipts to be donated to The Alliance for Climate Protection. With the success of the film, that donation will exceed $1 million dollars.

Astronomer Phil Plait has commented on this over at Bad Astronomy:

Diversity, independence, innovation and imagination are progressive concepts ultimately alien to the conservative mind.

Chippewa. I was a little undecided as to where to put the Pat Robertson/Global Warming item, but thank you for steering me to the other item. No doubt, the Lord God works in strange ways. Pat Robertson may be one of His strangest.

YO-YO MA:

OK, thanks. Also note that Professor Plait interestingly points out that Robertson, though right about global warming being a real phenomenon, (which his brethren right-wingers deny,) is also completely wrong as to its effects.

Chips Ah-OY!
