Whenever someone protests with such vehemence and hate against something, they are usually secretly attracted to the very thing they claim to abhor. Hmmmm - makes you wonder about the Rev. Phelps, doesn't it?

Science seems to bear this out. Dr. Dean Edell mentioned on the radio the other day a study that was done in which admitted homophobes were attached to a machine that measured sexual arousal, then proceeded to show pictures and/or videos of a homosexual nature. The more homophobic the test subject, the more aroused they got.

So, basically, the more they denied it, the more aroused they were when exposed to homosexual material?

As I have pointed out elsewhere, I find it ironic in the extreme that members of a bizarre religious cult whose central figure is a thirty-something male celibate would be critical of someone else's sexuality.
These types are quite fond of quoting old sayings. How about the one about "people who live in glass houses?"

I used to check into his site regularly, but after a while I just couldn't take it anymore. There are some websites that specifically target the dink, but I can't seem to locate them in my files.

These arseholes actually had the gall to picket the funeral of Bill Clinton's mother. Her 'crime'? Raising a son who was 'soft on gays'.

They are among the sickest individuals that have ever existed on this planet.

On a lighter side. . .

Michael Moore, on the Bravo series "The Awful Truth", harrassed Rev. Phelps and his followers by driving up in a pink tour bus filled with gays/lesbians.
Very funny stuff - the series is out on DVD - pick it up if you can find it!

I've actually seen the moron. He protested the Sisters of Charity (A catholic nun motherhouse is located in Leavenworth) because, get this, a nun spoke at a local college saying something to effect of 'we all have to learn to get along'. If I recall correctly she didn't mention anything in particular, just the fact we need to try to understand each other better. And Fred, the moron, protested, lol.

Somehow I find the idea that a bunch of elderly nuns being a den of inquity extremely funny. (The motherhouse here is sort of an 'old folks home' for the Sister's of Charity)

Everybody in Kansas hates the idiot and finds him extremely embarassing. (Kansans are very self-conscious, it's the "Oz" thing, lol. One of the reasons most people were against the evolution BOE thing was that it made us the laughing stock of the world... We HATE that :)

BTW here's a great parody of Fred's site.

I just saw something great on PBS. I didn't get the name of the show but there was something on Phelps. Somebody had this great idea. They started a fundraiser where people pledge a certain amount of money for every minute Phelps speaks publicly. So far they have raised thousands of dollars.
