Presidential pardon
White House, November 22 (PA) -- In what has become a Bush White House tradition, this year's Thanksgiving turkey pardoned the President.
"Flyer" the turkey stepped onto an ink pad, then onto a pardon document to make his mark. The pardon reads: "I hereby do grant a full, free, and absolute pardon unto George W. Bush for all offenses against the United States which he, George W. Bush, has committed or may have committed or taken part in during the period from January 20, 2001 through November 22, 2006."

Attorney General Alberto Gonzales snatched up the document, looked it over, nodded, and pronounced, "This should pass muster with the present Supreme Court."
Flyer then ran away, flapping, into the White House grounds. Vice President Dick Cheney fired at it several times with his shotgun, killing Karl Rove and slightly wounding Harry Whittington and two Secret Service agents.
