Yeah, my g-parents dont know, and I don't know when I plan on telling them. In fact I probably won't tell them. But they do know that I don't go to church. I think that the easiest way to tell someone that you're not a believer, is just to let them down easy, Like tell them little bits at a time. I don't know if that helps.

I have a nephew who is a priest. About ten years ago he was talking to me about Atheism. He shook his head and told me it was sad, so sad, that I couldn't see the truth and the light. I laughed and said that that was some coincidence. I was about to say the same thing to him. A crease appeared between his eyebrows. I leaned forward and said-- '"But ya know, Joe, between the two of us guys you're the only one whose wearing a dress."
LOL!
Ya know, Slater, you're a cruel SOB...
But funny as hell

Well James, if you are ashamed of being a non-believer then you better get started believing. But if you're not, then just be who you are. Your Uncle & Aunt will understand or they won't. That part is strictly up to them and there's nothing you can do about it.
I don't think that telling them would be a problem; heck, I could tell my Dad and he could set them up for me, but I guess I don't know what to say if they ask why I don't believe. Heck, a former classmate of mine was religious and I couldn't even explain why I didn't believe to him. http://www.theunholytrinity.org/cracks_smileys/contrib/lynx/orngsick.gif>
Should I just stick with my usual defense of being half nuts?

If I might be so bold as to put a few words in your mouth for you. The reason that you don't know the reason you don't believe is that you don't have, nor do you need. a reason not to believe something.
Not believing is your natural state. Believing is an addition to your natural state.
What you DO need is a reason TO believe something. A reason to suspend your disbelief. Since you have never been presented with a "reasonable" reason to believe you must perforce remain in your natural state. You do not have a "disbelief" you simply lack a "belief."

I thank you, kind sir, for that has made the most sense to me. *bows in awe and respect*
