BTW, Armed with no knowledge whatever of who did this or why, a poster on a fundamentalist BB where I lurk has attributed the gaffe to "outcome based education" and the many failings of the public education system.
It reminds me of the time President Jimmy Carter introduced former Vice-President Hubert Horatio Humphrey as "Hubert Horatio Hornblower" at the Democratic convention.

But was it really a 'mistake', hmmmm?
Someone with a nasty sense of humor might try for a laugh with something like this. As Skeptics, we must be aware of the possibilities - alternate explanations, Occams Razor, and so forth.
Indeed, perhaps The Big G prefers Ray to Jones. Easier to spell, ya see.
