According to that paragon of scientific journalism, The Weekly World News, Mars is turning from plain red to red, white, and blue: http://www.weeklyworldnews.com/news/index.cfm?instanceid=19861 It is suggested that this may be the result of "intelligent design". WWN quotes an unnamed "NASA insider" quote: As crazy as it sounds, many of us now believe that the inhabitants of Mars are doing this deliberately as a symbol of their solidarity with the United States.
Take that, bin Laden.
Abducting UFOs and conspiring against conspiracy theorists since 1980.

I love the Weekly World News and I'm always disappointed when the store sells out before I get to see the front page. I've been following the saga of Batboy for years and hate to miss an issue. I'm almost tempted to maybe think about subscribing. Almost.
But, does anyone really believe this nonsense? I hope not, but people being what they are..........

Well, it's about time. The Soviet Empire collapsed more than 10 years ago. I was wondering when the Martians would stop sympathizing with the Commies and show some respect for the Yanks. Although, it should be noted that the flag of the Russian Federation is also red, white and blue. Perhaps, the first Martians to visit Earth were Cossacks.

Dunno about WWN, but my granny believed everything in the NE. She thought if it wasn't true, it couldn't be printed. Lisa

The Enquirer is actually correct much more often than you would expect.

I once asked my mom about 'em, she had to work with this 'reporter' for a tabloid...she says the guy seemed to believe every word of it. Although, I can't help but wonder if it isn't just a policy to act like it.
